Renault 5 Turbo 3E: Electric Mini‑Supercar Reservations Open

Renault revealed the all‑electric Renault 5 Turbo 3E on 17 March and immediately opened reservations for this limited‑edition electric mini‑supercar. The introductory UK price starts at £135,000, VAT included, with options, accessories, and personalisation charged separately. The figure applies only to the first 500 priority reservations and is subject to change before complete sales commence. Renault will offer the car across Europe, including the United Kingdom, as well as in the Middle East, Japan, and Australia.

From 22 April, enthusiasts can secure one of the 1,980 numbered Renault 5 Turbo 3E cars by completing an online form on their national Renault site and nominating a preferred dealer. The dealer then schedules a showroom appointment where the customer signs the reservation and, for a fee, may choose the vehicle’s number. This process ensures priority when formal ordering begins. Dealers share the upfront financing burden with customers, thereby accelerating the development and production of high-performance EVS.

Ivan Segal, Renault’s Global Sales and Operations Director, stated, “We are proud to have succeeded in involving our dealers, as well as the first customers, in the pre‑financing process of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E… This entirely new process demonstrates Renault Group’s ability to innovate in the marketing schemes of extraordinary projects.”

In early 2026, dealers will invite reservation holders to define bespoke colours, materials, and liveries. Customers may meet Renault designers to craft unique interiors and exteriors, drawing inspiration from historic shades such as Rouge Grenade and the 1982 Tour de Corse racing livery while exploring fresh “gentleman driver” palettes.

In the first half of 2027, customers will finalise specifications, place firm orders, and receive the earliest cars, pending homologation.

Built on a bespoke aluminium platform, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E measures 4.08 metres long, 2.03 metres wide and 1.38 metres tall, blending city‑car length with supercar width. Two rear in‑wheel motors deliver 540 hp and 4,800 Nm instantly, propelling the carbon‑bodied EV from 0–100 km/h in under 3.5 seconds. A 70 kWh battery linked to an 800‑volt system supports 350 kW DC charging, restoring 15 to 80 per cent in 15 minutes and providing a WLTP range exceeding 400 km.

Alpine leads development and will assemble the Renault 5 Turbo 3E at the Jean Rédélé plant in Dieppe. Ampere contributes software and electronic architecture, while Mobilize supplies Smart Charge, Charge Pass, Plug & Charge and bi‑directional charging services. Together, they create Renault’s most powerful road car to date.

After the reservation phase Renault will display the Renault 5 Turbo 3E in new RNLT stores across Europe before the car tackles the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 10 to 13 July 2025, giving the public a close look at Renault’s groundbreaking electric mini‑supercar.
