Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Sets Record at Laguna Seca

On 4 November 2025, the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear set a new lap record for homologated production cars at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, underscoring Koenigsegg’s dominance in cutting-edge hypercar engineering and track performance. Factory test driver Markus Lundh recorded a 1:24.16 lap, verified by Racelogic, to secure the benchmark time under strict circuit regulations.

Koenigsegg met the challenging 90 dB noise limit by fitting an additional heavy muffler behind the rear of the Sadair’s Spear, yet the car still delivered exceptional pace and stability. The team ran with minimal time on track, which further emphasises the capability of the Sadair’s Spear as a road-legal production car that can translate its advanced technology directly into lap record performance.

This result showcases Koenigsegg’s in-house engineering solutions, which maintain balance, grip, and predictability even with the added pendulum effect of the auxiliary muffler mounted behind the car. The Sadair’s Spear demonstrates how intelligent aerodynamics, powertrain innovation, and chassis development work together to unlock record-breaking speed without compromising everyday usability.

Christian von Koenigsegg commented on the record: “We knew that the Sadair’s Spear had the potential to beat the lap record. To achieve this feat with the added muffler behind the car shows the potential for even greater performance on a less noise-restricted day. That the everyday-usable and livable Sadair’s Spear, with Autoskin, electric seats, sound deadening, amplifiers, and more, can outperform stripped-out track cars is a true testament to the depth of engineering that goes into our creations. I am very proud of our results and achievements, made possible only through solid and passionate teamwork.”
