Audi eMTB 2.0: New Enduro Electric Mountain Bike by Fantic

Audi has launched the second generation of its limited-edition enduro-style electric pedal-assist mountain bike. The Audi eMTB 2.0 powered by Fantic is available through Audi Genuine Accessories and targets riders who want a capable, premium electric mountain bike built for varied terrain.

The latest Audi electric mountain bike gains an upgraded SRAM GX Eagle Transmission AXS electronic rear derailleur, an SRAM XX SL Eagle 12-speed 10-52T rear cassette, and new EPTA STAGE brake rotors that measure 220 mm at the front and 203 mm at the rear. Despite the upgrades, the second-generation e-bike is offered at a lower cost, with an MSRP of $5,850.

Developed with Italian motorcycle and e-bike specialist Fantic and based on the XEF 1.9 Factory enduro e-bike, the Audi eMTB 2.0 uses a lightweight aluminium frame with geometry that promotes a relaxed riding position so you can respond quickly to obstacles and changing terrain. A mixed wheel setup, featuring 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear wheels, strikes a balance between rollover confidence and agile cornering, supporting the bike’s enduro focus.

Full suspension underpins its control and comfort. E-bike-specific Mavic tubeless-ready wheels and Vittoria e-bike-rated off-road tyres help it feel at home on everything from cycle paths and touring routes to demanding trail riding. The fully adjustable suspension, featuring 180 mm of travel, is equipped with a coil-sprung Öhlins TTX22m.2 rear shock and an air-sprung Öhlins RXF38 m—two fork, delivering precise tuning and consistent damping on rough terrain.

The 1x12 drivetrain now shifts via the SRAM GX Eagle Transmission AXS electronic rear mech and a bar-mounted POD shifter, working in conjunction with the SRAM XX SL Eagle 12-speed 10-52T cassette for smooth, wide-range gearing. Sunstar Braking F.I.R.S.T. callipers pair with the new EPTA STAGE rotors in 220/203 mm sizes to provide powerful, fade-resistant braking for steep descents and technical sections.

Riders can choose from four levels of electrical assistance, ranging from Eco to Boost, at speeds of up to 20 mph (32 km/h). The estimated battery range varies between 12 and 90 miles (20–150 km), depending on terrain, rider weight, and assist level. Eco mode prioritises efficiency and range while still adding noticeable support. Tour increases assistance for everyday riding. Sport supplies strong power for spirited cycling, and Boost delivers maximum help for steep, sustained climbs.

A 720 Wh, 36-volt lithium-ion battery is situated entirely within the aluminium frame and powers the quiet, efficient Brose S-MAG 250-watt motor, which produces up to 90 Nm of torque. A compact digital display on the handlebars displays the assist level, battery status, and speed at a glance. The charge indicator flashes in the top-right corner when the battery level drops below 10%.

Audi’s off-road heritage informs the e-bike’s character. The brand established its reputation in the World Rally Championship competition with the quattro all-wheel drive system in the 1980s, a technology that helped define its performance DNA. The Audi eMTB 2.0 continues that story with an eye-catching livery inspired by the electrified, Dakar Rally-winning RS Q e-tron race car.

Deliveries of the Audi eMTB powered by Fantic are expected in September, with an MSRP of $5,850 excluding local taxes. Customers can register their interest and find details on the AudiUSA site via Audi Genuine Accessories. Audi also offers branded accessories, including riding gloves, cycling jerseys and shorts, water bottles and packs, as well as a range of compatible bike racks for select models.
