Aston Martin Valkyrie LM: Le Mans-Born Hypercar Unveiled
Aston Martin today unveils the Valkyrie LM, an ultra-exclusive, non-homologated evolution of the road-derived hypercar that will pursue outright victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The marque first tackled the French endurance classic in 1928. After multiple class triumphs—including five since 2014—it now chases its first overall win since Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby steered the DBR1 to glory in 1959.
Engineers created the Valkyrie LM directly from the Valkyrie Hypercar that will contest the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. They retained the Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, which delivers the regulation-capped 520 kW (697 bhp) yet revs with trademark ferocity.
Adrian Hallmark said, “In all its forms, there is nothing on Earth that compares to Valkyrie. The Le Mans contender is unique amongst its peers, not least the breathtaking 6.5-litre V12 engine that provides the beating heart for the only competitive hypercar bred from a road car.
“Valkyrie LM is an exquisite opportunity to be part of the most exclusive Aston Martin owners club in the world; a group who can immerse themselves in the purest and most comparable endurance driving experience, one that would otherwise only be available to our works drivers operating at the very limit of sportscar racing’s highest echelon. Through the decades, Aston Martin has striven to give its owners the truest sense of the performance bred from its racing cars. With Valkyrie LM, there has never been an opportunity to get closer to the raw dynamic forces and state-of-the-art technology deployed by the hypercar currently competing in WEC and IMSA.”
The team strips ballast, competition electronics and closed-loop torque control to create a machine that welcomes amateur drivers while preserving race-car DNA. They recalibrate the V12 for readily available fuel and install a bespoke cockpit interface for track-day ease.
Drive reaches the rear wheels through a seven-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, while double wishbones, pushrod-actuated torsion bars, and adjustable dampers underpin the chassis. Bespoke Pirelli tyres claw for grip, and a carbon-fibre seat, six-point harness, and integrated fire system safeguard occupants.
Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s Head of Endurance Motorsport said: “It is important to emphasise that the Valkyrie LM is close to identical to the race car that is currently competing in WEC and IMSA, with only a few minor deviations to ensure it is a non-homologated variant and is accessible for customers to experience and enjoy. Valkyrie LM represents the most authentic Hypercar track experience that is now available.”
Aston Martin backs each owner with a comprehensive driver development programme. Engineers store, maintain and transport the cars, while professional coaches provide simulator sessions, track walks, classroom briefings and one-to-one guidance that unlocks performance safely beyond 200 mph.
The package includes a complete race kit, data analysis and three fully supported track events: a handover in Q2 2026 and two further UNLEASHED days in Q3 and Q4 at Formula One-grade circuits, culminating in an exclusive dinner at Gaydon headquarters that December.
Since its 2016 conception, every Valkyrie variant has redefined road-and-track performance. By limiting Valkyrie LM production to just ten examples, Aston Martin ensures that each driver joins an elite club, experiencing state-of-the-art endurance racing technology in its purest form.
