Bentley Bentayga X Concept Debuts at FAT Ice Race

Bentley Motors reveals the new Bentayga X Concept at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See. The brand developed this one-off concept to gather feedback on a more off-road-capable Bentayga. It also marks the start of a new multi-year partnership with FAT International.

The core Bentayga already delivers a wide range of abilities, combining strong performance, luxurious comfort, refined cruising, and genuine off-road capability. The Bentayga Speed prioritises dynamic handling and outright pace. The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase focuses on rear-seat luxury and wellbeing. The Bentayga X Concept targets the third pillar of Bentayga capability and aims to raise the off-road experience even further.

The concept is based on a Bentayga Speed. It pairs a 650 PS 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine with permanent four-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission. Air suspension works with Bentley Dynamic Ride, Bentley’s 48V electric active anti-roll control system.

The Bentayga X Concept changes its stance and presence with forged single-piece 22” wheel rims from specialist Brixton and large profile off-road tyres. The track width increases by 120mm to improve stability. The ride height rises by 55 mm to maximise suspension travel and ground clearance. The wheel arches are shifted outboard by 40 mm to accommodate the wider setup. These changes deliver a wading depth of over 550 mm and ground clearance just under 310 mm.

The exterior stays purposeful and adventure-ready. Roof-mounted storage and four spotlights support longer off-road journeys. An electric Bambino-size Go Kart (as used in the FAT Karting League) is mounted on the roof to demonstrate the added cargo capacity. These roof additions take the overall height of the Bentayga X Concept to 2.49 metres. At the rear, the titanium sports exhaust from Akrapovic still stands out. The concept also adds twin towing eyes at the front.

The FAT Ice Race celebrates cars and their place in culture. It brings together people who share a passion for automotive excellence, now and in the future. The event features multiple classes, including a mixed Skijöring class, as well as exhibitions of rare and exotic cars. Bentley’s strong presence at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See launches a multi-year partnership. The partnership will also take Bentley to the upcoming FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, at the end of February, as well as a 24-hour takeover of FAT Mankei in Austria later this year.

Bentley will show the Bentayga X Concept alongside some of its latest and boldest models. From the launch of Supersports: FULL SEND in Dubai, Travis Pastrana’s unique livery Supersports will appear on display, alongside the newly announced Continental GTC S. Bentley will also run the coupe sibling, the Continental GT S, on the ice in a global debut. The display will include a Bentayga Speed and Speed Six Continuations Series Car Zero from Mulliner.

Car culture icon and broadcaster Chris Harris will drive the Bentayga Speed in the Skijöring event while towing Norwegian freestyle skier Hedvig Wessel. French racing driver Laura Villars will pilot the Continental GT S. Mike Sayer, head of Bentley’s Heritage Collection, will drive the Speed Six.

FAT International began as a logistics company that transported fashion across Europe. It sponsored motorsports to showcase its express delivery service. FAT's legacy is based on its 1994 overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Dauer 962 LM.

Today, FAT International produces clothing and connects people through offline experiences such as the FAT Ice Race and FAT Mankei. It aims to change motorsports forever, starting at the grassroots through the FAT Karting League.

The FAT Karting League blends cutting-edge technology with a new vision for grassroots racing. Drivers race electric karts engineered with F1 precision on Birel chassis. The series builds more than competition. It creates a global community where drivers and fans come together to celebrate the sport and the distinct FAT spirit.
