Ferrari Crowns 2025 WEC Season With Bahrain Title Double
Ferrari secured the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship Manufacturers' title with an extraordinary result at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the season finale, and ended a 53-year wait for a new world crown in the top class of endurance racing. The victory for Maranello in the FIA WEC Manufacturers' standings came alongside the FIA World Endurance Drivers' Championship title for official drivers Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi, who brought the Ferrari AF Corse 499P number 51 home in fourth place at the chequered flag to complete a historic title-winning campaign.
Ferrari achieved a twofold triumph in Bahrain, capitalising on the strength of its full Hypercar lineup. The sister 499P, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen, delivered a crucial third place that reinforced the points haul. The number 83 AF Corse 499P, with official Ferrari driver Yifei Ye joined by Robert Kubica and Phil Hanson, finished fifth, adding further weight to Ferrari's supremacy. These combined results confirmed Ferrari as the World Manufacturers' champion. They placed Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi first in the Drivers' standings, ahead of Ye-Kubica-Hanson in second and Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen in third to complete an all-Ferrari top three.
The final round in Bahrain showcased the Ferrari Hypercar project as a dominant force from the opening laps. The Maranello-based team executed excellent stints, clean pit work and decisive strategy, which kept all three Ferraris consistently among the leaders in a fiercely contested FIA WEC field. With the championship secure and the marque poised to celebrate, Pier Guidi chose in the closing stages to yield third on the road to teammate Nielsen so that the number 50 crew could step onto the podium and seal third place in the World Endurance Drivers' Championship. This act underlined the unity and tactical clarity within Ferrari AF Corse.
Ferrari added this success to a proud endurance racing legacy and elevated its world title tally. Counting both overall and class honours since the FIA inaugurated the championship in 1953, Ferrari now holds 24 world endurance titles. The 2025 Manufacturers' crown represents the ninth overall world title and the first at the top level since the 1972 FIA World Championship for Makes, when the Ferrari 312 P dominated and effectively handed a symbolic baton to the modern 499P. The 2025 campaign also delivered Ferrari's first overall Drivers' title in the premier endurance category, a feat the marque had not previously achieved in the era when organisers only awarded a Manufacturers' title. For Pier Guidi and Calado, already established GT heroes with Ferrari, the new success marks a fourth World Drivers' Championship, which joins their LMGTE Pro titles from 2017, 2021, and 2022. It confirms their status at the heart of Ferrari's endurance racing story.
Within the FIA World Endurance Championship era that began in 2012, Ferrari's 2025 triumph strengthens an exceptional record. The marque now counts eight Manufacturers' titles in the series, with this latest success standing as the first overall crown after winning the GT class in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2021, and 2022. Ferrari-supported drivers have now earned six FIA WEC Drivers' titles, including GT successes, recorded in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2021, 2022, and 2025—a sequence that highlights consistent excellence across both the GT and Hypercar eras.
The 2025 Bahrain result also returns a World Manufacturers' title to Maranello, 17 years after the Ferrari F2008 secured the 2008 Formula 1 World Constructors' Championship, evoking memories of Kimi Räikkönen's 2007 Drivers' crown. The new endurance titles confirm Ferrari's ability to compete for and claim global honours across categories and generations while it develops cutting-edge race technology.
In 2025, Ferrari captured its ninth overall world endurance title, following previous wins in 1953, 1954, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1960, 1961, and 1972. In that remarkable 1972 season, the 312 P entered 10 of the 11 scheduled races and won every one it contested, setting a benchmark that continues to inspire the 499P project. Including class titles, Ferrari now holds 24 World Manufacturers' crowns, the most recent of which came before this season, in 2022, with the GTE Manufacturers' title. In the history of the Drivers' World Championship, including GT categories, Ferrari-affiliated drivers have won six titles between 2012 and 2025, underscoring the depth of talent within the programme.
Throughout the 2025 FIA WEC season, Ferrari and AF Corse turned the 499P into a reference point in Hypercar competition. The Italian team celebrated three victories with the hybrid prototype, as car number 50 triumphed in Qatar and car number 51 won at Imola and in Belgium, supported by two second places, three third places and three pole positions. Pier Guidi, Calado, and Giovinazzi took pole positions at Lusail and Imola. At the same time, Fuoco, Molina, and Nielsen delivered another strong performance at Spa, further strengthening Ferrari's standing in qualifying and race pace.
Ferrari enriched the honours list with a commanding 1-2-3 finish at the Lusail season-opener, where the number 83 499P finished second, and with consecutive one-two results at Imola and Spa. The AF Corse-run privateer 83 car frequently joined the factory crews on the podium, despite regulations excluding it from scoring world championship points. AF Corse also captured the 2025 FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams for independent entrants and celebrated a prestigious victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ye-Kubica-Hanson, further reinforcing Ferrari's Hypercar era as a benchmark for success at the world's most important endurance races.
Ferrari concluded the season at the top of the FIA WEC standings with 245 points to secure the Manufacturers' World Endurance Championship. In the Drivers' standings, Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi prevailed with 133 points, followed by Ye-Hanson-Kubica on 117 and Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen on 98, establishing a complete Ferrari lockout of the top three positions and providing a compelling narrative for fans searching for 2025 WEC results and Ferrari 499P achievements.
John Elkann, Ferrari Chairman: “This milestone fills us with pride and represents the fulfilment of a dream – the culmination of a journey we began in 2022, when we decided to return to the top class of endurance racing. It has been a journey that saw us win Le Mans three consecutive times. It brings us today not only two world titles, but the celebration of the strength of a team that worked as one, facing the relentless challenges of endurance racing with humility, and with the drive to improve every single day.”
Alessandro Pier Guidi, 499P #51: “I think it will take a few days for me to realise what we’ve achieved here in Bahrain. I want to thank the Wentiere team, comprising individuals who, over the past three years, have worked tirelessly to achieve this goal. We’ve grown step by step, winning three 24 Hours of Le Mans and, at last, managing to clinch the world manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles. This shows that our team was the best throughout an entire season we’ll never forget. I’m happy and proud to be among the drivers who brought Ferrari back to the top of the endurance world.”
James Calado, 499P #51: “I’m proud to be part of this team – today I’ve fulfilled a lifelong dream, becoming world champion with Ferrari. The journey we’ve taken over these three years has been extraordinary: we returned to the top class at Sebring in 2023, immediately taking pole position, and race after race we proved our ability to progress as a team, as well as to extract the full potential of a fantastic car like the 499P. Winning two world titles is truly extraordinary.”
Antonio Giovinazzi, 499P #51: “This is a fantastic day that none of us will ever forget. My first thought is to thank the whole team and my teammates. With Ale and James (Pier Guidi and Calado), from the very first day of this programme, we shared a dream – to become world champions. We’ve managed to make it come true, and we end the year with two world titles, manufacturers’ and drivers’. All of this is already part of history.”
Antonio Fuoco, 499P #50: “This has been a perfect weekend in which the whole team did an incredible job. Despite the pressure being high, we did our best without making a single mistake, proving once again that we are a great team. What we’ve achieved over these three years with the 499P is incredible – I’m proud to be part of this project.”
Miguel Molina, 499P #50: “I’m absolutely delighted to end such a fantastic season this way. We’ve finally managed to win the manufacturers’ title, a significant achievement for the team and the brand. Congratulations to our teammates in the number 51 499P, who clinched the drivers’ title, and thanks to Antonio and Nicklas (Fuoco and Nielsen, Ed.) because, for the third year in a row, we finish the season with a place on the World Championship podium.”
Nicklas Nielsen, 499P #50: “Bringing Ferrari back to winning a world manufacturers’ championship in endurance after so many years is a dream come true and proof of how hard this team has worked, always striving to improve race after race. I want to thank everyone for achieving such an extraordinary result.”
Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Endurance and Corse Clienti: “In Bahrain, we concluded a memorable season by achieving a historic result. The 499P project, with which we returned to the top class of endurance racing, has so far achieved exceptional results, thanks to the three wins at Le Mans, the victory of the World Manufacturers’ title and the success in the Drivers’ title, with the three crews taking the top spots in the standings. I am proud to lead this team, and I thank all its members, who were equally instrumental in these successes. Without their valuable work, passion, and dedication, all of this would not be possible. After the race, seeing all the drivers and the team celebrating together, we had yet another demonstration of how cohesive this group is. Finally, I would like to spare a thought for Andrea De Adamich, who passed away in recent days: I am sure he would have shared our joy for this extraordinary success”.
Ferdinando Cannizzo, Head of Endurance Race Cars: “We have fulfilled the dream of becoming world champions, working hard and with humility to reach this goal. In 2023, by winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we immediately realised the strength of the project, and the victories in France over the following two years confirmed that we were on the right path. We built this world success, especially last winter, when we worked tirelessly to fully understand how to exploit the potential of this car. I want to thank the whole Ferrari – AF Corse team and everyone who, both on the track and in Maranello from the remote garage, made it possible for us to experience this joy.”
