For SS025, the assessment revealed a car true to factory intent for the EB110 America. The chassis, bodywork, powertrain, mechanical components and cockpit remain completely original. As Bugatti and the owner studied archival records and inspected parts, a vibrant history emerged. Built as a development car, EB110 America SS025 blended EB110 GT comfort with EB110 SS performance. After leaving the Bugatti factory in Campogalliano, Italy, it travelled to North America as a demonstrator. It appeared on the cover of Robb Report, won the People’s Choice Award at Concorso Italiano in the United States and featured at the Chicago Auto Show in early 1995. It later took part in the Trieste Opicina Historic before its first independent owner, Italian entrepreneur Romano Artioli, acquired it in 2000, underscoring his role in Bugatti’s 1990s revival.
Romano stored the car in France, then returned it to Campogalliano for a comprehensive service. In 2007, he transformed the exterior from Grigio Chiaro to a quintessential Bugatti hue, Bugatti Blu. The striking colourway captivated a UK collector who became the second owner in 2013. The car’s presence resonated with enthusiasts worldwide, from the lawns of Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace to the cover of Octane.
