Gunther Werks GWX Revealed: Ultimate Porsche 911 Restomod

Gunther Werks, a leader in precision-engineered, high-performance automotive design, has unveiled the newest addition to its exclusive lineup of bespoke vehicle programmes. “GWX” represents the latest evolution of the performance specialists’ remastering of the Porsche 911 platform and sits at the absolute apex of Gunther Werks’ offerings.

The company will produce only three builds, underscoring the GWX as a truly exclusive, limited-production Porsche 911 restomod. Gunther Werks operates the GWX as an invite-only programme, elevating rarity and desirability for dedicated collectors.

The GWX builds on existing Gunther Werks platforms yet separates itself with higher performance and advanced technology. At its heart, an evolution of the proven Coupe motor integrates innovations first introduced for the GWR motor. The second-generation GWX 4.0-litre flat-six produces 440 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. Unlike previous builds, it uses advanced sliding throttle-body plates. This configuration delivers razor-sharp throttle response at every input and greatly improves airflow at wide open throttle because no part of a conventional plate blocks the intake path. Gunther Werks also developed a new drive-by-wire throttle system to support this slide-valve technology.

Completely bespoke carbon-fibre body panels, exclusive to the GWX, further distinguish the car while enhancing aerodynamics and downforce. The package includes vented front wings, widened rear quarter panels, flared side skirts, a carbon-fibre bonnet, a Race Edition front bumper, a vented rear bumper with diffuser, and a frame-mounted rear wing with a decklid ram-air scoop.

A special in-house Candy Purple paint covers the unique bodywork and remains exclusive to the GWX. Silver pinstriping and an exposed herringbone carbon-fibre weave running down the centre of the bonnet, roof, and tail add further singularity. To increase chassis rigidity, Gunther Werks has added rear chassis bracing technology developed for the Turbo to the GWX platform.

“Our new GWX takes all we have learned with remastering the Porsche 911 platform and pushes it even further,” said Peter Nam, CEO and founder of Gunther Werks. “We are extremely excited to offer this pinnacle of performance to our most loyal customers and continue to showcase our technical prowess with our newest offerings.”
