Hispano Suiza Picks Michelin Tyres for Carmen Sagrera
Hispano Suiza selects Michelin as the exclusive tyre supplier for the Carmen Sagrera hypercar, the sports car that marks the brand’s 120th anniversary. The partnership reinforces the model’s positioning as a cutting-edge electric hypercar and strengthens Hispano Suiza’s heritage with a modern performance focus.
Engineers from Hispano Suiza work closely with Michelin to specify and customise the ideal fitment for the Hispano Suiza Carmen Sagrera. Designed, manufactured and tested in Spain, the fully electric hypercar delivers 1,114 hp and 1,160 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds. The specification demands tyres that unlock dynamic capability on both track and road while maintaining durability and precision.
To meet that brief, Hispano Suiza and Michelin’s technical centre co-develop a dedicated version of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in sizes 265/30 ZR19 for the front axle and 305/30 ZR20 for the rear. This tailored MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S withstands Carmen Sagrera’s extreme loads and heat cycles, adding model-specific features that elevate grip, feedback, and consistency for both enthusiastic driving and everyday use.
Distinctive sidewalls celebrate the brand’s roots, with styling inspired by the stork emblem of Hispano Suiza and the mosaics of Catalan architect Antonio Gaudí, creating a unique visual signature that underlines the car’s Spanish identity. The tyre also integrates Michelin’s Velvet Touch technology, which gives the sidewall a refined, velvety feel. This approach allows Hispano Suiza to customise tyre detailing across its vehicles, enhancing exclusivity and craftsmanship as part of the overall design.
Sergio Martínez Campos, CEO of Hispano Suiza: "Tyres are a key component in any vehicle, but even more so in a hypercar with the performance capabilities of the Carmen Sagrera, with 1,114 hp and 1,160 Nm of torque. Thanks to Michelin, our customers can enjoy the magnificent dynamic capabilities across our entire range, both on the track and on the road."
Lorenzo Giovanelli, Director of Original Equipment for Specialised Manufacturers at Michelin, said: "We are delighted to renew our historic partnership with Hispano Suiza through the Carmen Sagrera, a 100% electric hypercar that embodies both innovation and tradition. The development of a customised version of our MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S tyre for this model reflects Michelin's pioneering spirit, which brings technologies developed in motorsport to the most innovative projects. The combination of optimal performance on both the road and the track, along with exclusive design elements, pays tribute to Hispano Suiza's unique heritage. Together, we continue to push the boundaries of technology, safety and driving pleasure."
The relationship between Hispano Suiza and Michelin dates back to the 1920s and 1930s, when advanced Hispano Suiza models were equipped with Michelin tyres for reliability and high performance, including in competition. That legacy continues today, as the manufacturer equips its full range with Michelin tyres and showcases its cars at global events such as California’s Monterey Car Week and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Hispano Suiza also collaborates with Michelin’s Engineering & Services department to continue refining vehicle performance, with support from French technical experts. This ongoing development ensures that the Carmen Sagrera and the wider Hispano Suiza range deliver engaging handling, efficiency, and safety, supported by tyres that match the ambition of a modern electric hypercar.
