Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Targets Road America GTD Win

Aston Martin Vantage GT3 chases victory again in the GTD class at the Motul Sportscar Grand Prix of Road America, Round 8 of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend. The Heart of Racing fields the new-generation Aston Martin Vantage GT3, built on the marque’s bonded aluminium chassis and sharing its mechanical architecture with the ultra-luxury Vantage road car. The racer employs a fearsome twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that delivers relentless pace on North America’s finest circuits.

Vantage and THOR have enjoyed a purple patch at Road America. In 2023, Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas captured pole position and converted it into a commanding GTD Pro win, while last season, Zacharie Robichon steered the car to a front-row start in GTD.

Tom Gamble returns to the #27 machine after missing the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park round because of a Valkyrie World Endurance Championship commitment at Interlagos. His team-mate Casper Stevenson, who shared the cockpit with Roman De Angelis in Canada, sits third in the Drivers’ standings with four races remaining, and both THOR and Aston Martin also hold third in the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ tables.

The Motul Sportscar Grand Prix of Road America starts at 14:10 local time (19:10 BST) on Sunday, 3 August 2025. Fans can follow every lap live worldwide on IMSA TV, the IMSA YouTube channel and selected national broadcasters.
