MG Unveils Cyberster Black & Cyber X at 2025 Goodwood Festival

MG will charge into the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed by bringing two breathtaking design showpieces, the Cyberster Black and Cyber X, for their European debuts from July 10–13. At 11:00 on Thursday, 10 July, the marque will also lift the covers on two technologically advanced electric vehicles, giving visitors an immediate first look.

One of those new models will unleash its formidable electric acceleration up Goodwood’s iconic hill climb alongside the crowd-favourite MG EX4 EV, which returns wearing a striking livery that salutes the legendary MG Metro 6R4. MG’s main stand will showcase the practical MG5 EV estate and the award-winning MG HS SUV, while a second, playful experience zone invites guests to explore the high-performance MG4 EV XPower.

Festival founder The Duke of Richmond CBE DL remarks: “After officially celebrating their centenary with us in some style last year, MG will return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with two important, new production models as well as some outstanding concept cars which we’re excited to be hosting. The opportunity to catch a first glimpse of captivating future design and technical innovation is a key part of the Goodwood experience, and MG has so much to offer this year.”

As a truly global brand now present in almost 120 countries and posting more than 240,000 European sales in 2024, MG has chosen the Festival of Speed to highlight two fresh design concepts that reflect its adventurous spirit and growing design prowess.

The dramatic MG Cyberster, an all-electric two-seat convertible, returns in a colour scheme worthy of the exclusive Drivers’ Ball. Cyberster Black features a luxurious, deep-black finish, complemented by contrasting chrome accents and an all-black cockpit, which creates an elegant and mature character.

The rugged yet compact Cyber X concept presents the youthful “urban explorer” vision of the Cyber sub-brand. Pop-up headlamps, extremely short overhangs and a grounded stance promise agility across busy city streets and complex suburban roads.

Envisioned by MG’s Vice-President of SAIC Design, Jozef Kaban, Cyber X reinforces MG’s pledge to build electric cars with genuine personality as the marque embarks on its second century. Kaban adds: “We’re looking forward to introducing the original Cyber X and elegant Cyberster Black. MG has a tradition of creating emotive cars that stand out from the crowd, and we’re passionate about continuing this work as well as exploring how we might take the brand in some new, unexpected directions.”
