Kimera EVO38 Debuts at Monterey Car Week With Pure Mechanics

The EVO38 introduces technical and aesthetic solutions never seen before on a car. Kimera EVO38 embodies the purity of mechanics and turns innovation into a sensory experience.

Kimera Automobili presents its four-wheel-drive car in California during Monterey Car Week, which culminates in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Monterey, United States, 11 August 2025: In an automotive arena where big names chase supercar and hypercar statistics, sprint times, hybrid and electric outputs, top speed claims, and Nürburgring laps, Kimera asserts something different: passion and emotion.

Luca Betti and the Kimera Automobili team prioritise what creates unique emotions and stimulates the senses. You see refined aesthetics in the body lines, the cockpit design, and every exposed mechanical detail. You hear a distinctive engine note with a character all its own. You feel hand-crafted materials shaped one by one. You even recognise the unmistakable scent of a racing car.

These emotions power a thriving collector and enthusiast scene that gathers at landmark events such as Monterey Week, Carmel, and Pebble Beach, held from 11 to 17 August. The EVO38, debuting on this Californian stage, stands as the brand’s manifesto, the first production model with all technical packages in place and technological and aesthetic ideas never before offered on a road car.

Engineers have set the all-wheel-drive central driveshaft fully on show inside a glass tunnel running through the cabin. They have milled the gear lever tower from a single billet of aluminium. They fit a hydraulic handbrake inspired by World Rally Cars with a selectable torque splitter for front and rear axles. Drivers can adjust engine maps and power delivery, along with suspension, traction control, and ABS settings.

Inside, fine leather, Alcantara, hand stitching, milled aluminium, and carbon fibre create a purposeful atmosphere. Start-up buttons follow an engaging procedure reminiscent of a combat helicopter, and the instruments blend analogue needles with integrated classic electronics for timeless clarity.

Open the EVO38’s generous hatches and you discover a compact 2.2-litre four-cylinder with dual supercharging, a volumetric compressor working with a turbocharger. Kimera has revised and evolved this unit to deliver 600 horsepower, while a 48V electronic system adds torque fill and elasticity to its surge.

The chassis is new from the ground up. Push-rod suspension works with a strut-tower cross brace that also integrates turbo cooling, exploiting overpressure from the wastegate valve. Carbon fibre and worked aluminium appear throughout. The exhaust introduces an unseen solution: a valve immediately behind the turbo diverts gases either to the silenced system or to a direct exit. Open it, and the glowing turbine wheel becomes visible from the rear, creating a spectacle like no other.

Every solution, function, and detail serves the purity of mechanics and communicates directly with the driver. The car feels alive, with its voice and temperament. Mechanical reactions reach the person at the wheel without a filter. Steering responds with precision and a progressive build-up; braking remains stable and immediate thanks to overall lightness, which Kimera has reduced even with all-wheel drive on board.

Kimera has already assigned nearly all 38 EVO38 units. The brand will also show previous EVO37 editions and one Martini 7 version during the week’s highlights: Motorlux, Santa Lucia Preserve, The Quail, Exotics on Broadway, Monterey Motorsport Festival, and the finale at Pebble Beach.

Kimera arrives in California as a love anthem to mechanics and the purity of the Italian automobile, uniting creativity with artisanal manufacturing to win over an audience seeking rare emotion and sensation.
