Zenvo Aurora Programme Hits Key 2025 Development Milestones
Over the past 12 months, Zenvo Automotive has pushed its development programme harder than ever. The Aurora programme has advanced at full pace, and the team has applied pioneering technologies and modern development processes to achieve measurable progress at every gateway. Zenvo has also strengthened the brand as production draws nearer, bringing in global talent and world-class dealer partners to join the #zenvofamily.
In the first quarter of 2025, Zenvo and MAHLE Powertrain reached a significant milestone when the team fired up ‘Mjølner’, the world’s most powerful production V12 engine, for the first time. Since then, the engineers have continued to refine the powertrain, and Zenvo has confirmed technical partnerships with Ricardo and Castrol to support Aurora’s focus on innovation and real-world driveability for owners. The drivetrain programme has also moved forward, with the team integrating the hybrid powertrain, which will ultimately deliver up to 1,850hp.
As summer approached, the first validation prototype entered service, marking a turning point in the Zenvo Automotive test programme. In its harlequin livery, VP0 delivered a landmark moment for the Danish hypercar brand when it ran up the famous Hillclimb on the opening day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed for its dynamic public debut. The team then used VP0 across powertrain, electronics, suspension, and vehicle dynamics testing, before the car took to the streets of California as Zenvo arrived for Monterey Car Week. Zenvo Village welcomed car collectors, enthusiasts, brand friends, and the dealer network, reinforcing Aurora’s growing global profile.
Zenvo has kept the testing programme running at the Præstø factory and at facilities across Europe. The team completed successful crash tests, dynamic work, and performance validation through simulations and real-world testing. Zenvo also brought additional prototypes online as different teams and departments expanded the testing phases and accelerated progress towards the 2026 plan.
Across the business and its global partners, Zenvo Automotive has become a destination for specialist talent. The company filled new roles in engineering, development, purchasing, procurement, production, sales, marketing, and after-sales, while the dealer network expanded to 14 locations during 2025. Zenvo added five new sites, and leading, globally recognised dealer groups brought Zenvo into their portfolios as the brand continued building a world-class support network for every stage of ownership.
“We come to the end of 2025 with the technical and development phases of the Aurora programme driving forward with real momentum,” explains Jens Sverdrup, Chairman and CCO, Zenvo Automotive. “It has been a very proud year of firsts, one of real progress, and one which has firmly put Zenvo on the map, with our most significant activations and achievements over Goodwood and Monterey.
“It hasn’t been all plain sailing, by any means, which is expected from a programme of this magnitude and when working with the latest advances in technologies and systems which have never been seen or used before. We always set out to make Aurora something more than had gone before, and we now have the team in place to deliver what we set out to achieve. 2026 will be another year of firsts and of relentless pursuit of improvement as we keep building towards production.”
“It has been a big challenge for every member of the team over this year, working through a long list of firsts,” added Jon Gunner, Chief Technical Officer, Zenvo Automotive. “The team is now at its strongest, and Aurora is delivering or exceeding expectations at each phase. We are determined and dedicated to getting the results, and we have put the pieces in place with our team and partners to ensure that Aurora is everything that we have set out for it to be. There is still a joblist to be completed, but it is an exciting journey to be on.”
