Manthey Lightweight Wheels for Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2)

Manthey expands its road-car portfolio with a forged aluminium lightweight wheel set for the Porsche 911 GT3 (992.2). The team developed it with the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and manufactures it at Manthey’s own facility in Freudenstadt. The design increases rigidity, trims weight and withstands higher aerodynamic loads. The wheel set is available worldwide and qualifies for the Porsche Approved Warranty. It complements Manthey's lightweight wheels for 911 Carrera, 911 Turbo and 718 Cayman GT4 models.

Manthey utilised extensive simulation and testing to reduce unsprung and rotating mass by six kilograms compared to the standard wheels, thereby sharpening suspension response and improving vehicle control. Engineers achieved the saving by removing material strategically within the spoke design and around the centre lock. At the same time, the geometry supports over 20 per cent higher wheel loads and markedly raises bending and torsional stiffness to cope with greater aero forces on the Porsche 911 GT3.

Manthey validated the wheel set under the manufacturer’s comprehensive regulations. The test programme examines around 40 wheels across multiple scenarios to assess stiffness, resistance and running accuracy. Industrial test drives on the Nordschleife confirmed the vehicle's strength under demanding conditions. The wheel set meets OEM criteria for road use and requires no individual approval or registration under road traffic regulations. As an official Porsche vehicle accessory, it can be covered by the Porsche Approved Warranty.

The wheel set matches the series dimensions, with 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, and suits tyre sizes 255/35 ZR20 at the front and 315/30 ZR21 at the rear. Customers can order Brilliant Silver, Neodyme or Black finishes to suit their Porsche GT3.

"We are delighted to present the first performance product for the new 911 GT3 with this lightweight wheel set. Since opening our forged wheel production facility in Freudenstadt at the beginning of last year, we have developed lightweight wheel sets for various 911 Carrera and GT models in collaboration with Porsche. However, with the wheel set for the GT3, we are taking it one step further. Not only have we managed to significantly reduce the weight, but we have also improved the rigidity. This means we are perfectly prepared for further performance products for this car," explains Christoph Breuer, Director Road Cars at Manthey Racing GmbH.
