McLaren 750S Project Viva unveiled for Las Vegas Grand Prix

Ahead of the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix, McLaren Automotive has revealed Project Viva, a one-off McLaren 750S designed and created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) for a single client. As the brand’s bespoke division, MSO leads McLaren personalisation and one-off commissions, turning bold ideas into highly individual performance cars that echo the world’s most vibrant locations.

Project Viva draws inspiration from the energy and spectacle of Las Vegas and celebrates the shared spirit of innovation, ambition and performance that links McLaren with the city. Designers and craftspeople at MSO have shaped this one-off 750S as a creative showcase of the division’s ability to translate emotion and location into design through intricate, hand-painted craftsmanship.

Through this commission, the McLaren 750S becomes a clear testament to MSO’s full capabilities and demonstrates how McLaren’s bespoke division can transform a client’s creative spark into contemporary automotive artistry.

By reimagining the ‘City of Lights’ through a monochrome lens, Project Viva takes a deliberately unexpected approach in a city known for neon and colour. She expresses McLaren’s philosophy of challenging convention in supercar design.

Rather than recreate the familiar glow and spectacle through saturated colour, MSO translates Las Vegas rhythm, architecture and atmosphere into hand-painted monochrome linework. The ‘Sketch in Motion’ livery captures the movement and character of the city, from iconic signage and skyline landmarks to its links with music and live performance. Each element contributes to a broader narrative that also weaves in McLaren’s racing and design heritage.

MSO’s bespoke paints for Project Viva include Muriwai White, which appears on the shutters and doors within the Muriwai House motif, and Vegas Nights, a new MSO colour developed exclusively for this commission. MSO creates a deep black finish infused with subtle flecks of cyan, magenta and green to echo the neon glow of Las Vegas after dark. The designers create every sketch, colour, and texture with intent, laying the foundation for a story told through design and showing how MSO builds around ideas and inspiration rather than aesthetics alone.

McLaren Formula 1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri add a personal touch to the bespoke supercar. They contributed hand-applied details to the design, including the team’s tenth Constructors’ World Championship star on the rear bumper to celebrate its recent win. Signature lines and individual sketches from both drivers further celebrate McLaren Racing’s commitment to high performance on the track and its close connection to McLaren road cars.

“Project Viva captures what McLaren Special Operations is all about - pushing beyond convention to create something truly personal. It’s where craft meets character, and where any inspiration can become a story told through design. Every commission we create is a fusion of vision and skill, resulting in a car that authentically expresses the inspiration behind it. Whether born from brand storytelling or a client’s own passion, MSO exists to turn ideas into something unique and meaningful."
Jonathan Simms, Director of McLaren Special Operations (MSO)

McLaren will display the McLaren 750S Project Viva at the McLaren Experience Centre within the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel from 13–20 November, ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The showcase underlines McLaren Automotive’s design excellence and highlights the full breadth of capabilities available to McLaren Special Operations clients who seek a truly bespoke McLaren 750S.
