Rimac Technology Leadership Transition Drives 2026 Growth
Rimac Technology announced a leadership transition as it moves into its next phase of growth as a global Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry. The company appointed Nurdin Pitarević, previously Chief Operating Officer, as Chief Executive Officer. It also named Marko Brkljačić, formerly Deputy COO, as Chief Operating Officer.
Mate Rimac, founder of Rimac Technology and former CEO, will continue to support the business as President of Rimac Group. He will also focus more closely on Bugatti Rimac, where he serves as CEO.
“Nurdin has proven himself as an exceptional leader during his time as COO and as my deputy in leading Rimac Technology,” said Mate Rimac, Founder of Rimac Technology and President of Rimac Group. “He combines deep operational expertise with clear strategic thinking and a strong sense for people and culture. I have full trust in Nurdin to lead Rimac Technology through its next phase of growth and to continue building a world-class Tier 1 organisation.
Mate Rimac, Founder and President of the Rimac Group and CEO of Bugatti Rimac, said the leadership transition follows a transformational year for Rimac Technology. During that year, the company delivered tens of thousands of battery systems and powertrain systems to customers and OEM partners. It also showed strong operational robustness and field performance while securing multiple new programmes with leading global automotive manufacturers.
He said Nurdin and Marko played a central role in Rimac Technology’s shift from a high-performance niche supplier to a trusted Tier 1 partner. He added that they showed advanced technology, industrial discipline and entrepreneurial speed can coexist at scale.
Since joining Rimac Technology from one of Europe’s largest Tier 1 suppliers, Pitarević has led the company through rapid industrialisation, greater organisational maturity and a major operational scale-up. As COO, he guided Rimac Technology through the successful transition of multiple programmes into series production. The company then delivered thousands of systems worldwide while meeting demanding automotive standards.
“Stepping into the CEO role means moving beyond operational delivery to shaping the long-term direction of the company. Our focus is on building a technology leader that scales responsibly - combining innovation, digitalisation, sustainability, strong organisational foundations, and sustainable profitability. With new programs entering series production and a strong pipeline ahead, this is the right moment to accelerate our trajectory.
Nurdin Pitarević, CEO of Rimac Technology, will now lead the Rimac Technology strategic roadmap through 2030. That plan focuses on advanced electrification technologies, AI-enabled and digitalised operations, sustainable industrial growth and strong organisational and financial structures. It also includes the development of next-generation battery technology with solid-state cells in collaboration with a global technology partner, as well as the continued expansion of production capacity.
Marko Brkljačić brings deep experience in operations, digital transformation and strategic execution to the COO role. Before this appointment, he served as Deputy COO at Rimac Technology. He also held senior leadership roles at Tokić Ltd and several strategic roles at Rimac Automobili, including Head of Strategic Projects and Chief of Staff.
“Rimac Technology is at a point where operational excellence must scale seamlessly with ambition. Our focus is on ensuring consistent execution, empowered teams, and systems that support long-term, repeatable success across all programs.
Marko Brkljačić, COO of Rimac Technology, will help drive that next stage of execution as the company enters 2026 with strong momentum. Rimac Technology’s Croatian Campus now operates at full capacity across multiple shifts. The company already has five new production lines underway or scheduled over the next two years, which will support local employment growth. It is also in advanced discussions with several OEMs on new programmes across pure electric and hybrid powertrains.
Rimac Technology continues to stand out for its blend of cutting-edge electrification expertise, rapid development cycles, and industrial-scale execution. Proven performance from vehicles such as the Nevera and Bugatti Tourbillon supports that position. The company has already announced partnerships with BMW Group and Ceer Motors, as well as several confidential mid- to high-volume OEM programmes that are now under contract or in development.
