Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Sets 0-400-0 km/h Record Again
Koenigsegg reclaimed the coveted 0-400-0 km/h world record for homologated road cars at Örebro airfield on 7 August 2025, when factory test driver Markus Lundh drove the Jesko Absolut to a stunning 25.21 seconds. The time eclipsed the company’s June 2024 benchmark and every rival attempt, reinforcing Jesko Absolut’s status in world record performance.
The team unlocked this result with new software strategies applied to the same Jesko Absolut used in last year’s run, a package Koenigsegg calls “Absolut Overdrive”. Koenigsegg will roll out these refinements to customer cars so every Jesko Absolut owner benefits from the brand’s ongoing push in software development and technical excellence.
“This run demonstrated the power of cross-functional teamwork and exceptional communication between our in-house developed drivetrain systems,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder and CEO. “It’s a testament to the synergies between our engineering & development teams, our cutting-edge software architecture, and avant-garde class-leading mechanical solutions.”
Lundh had to work with a drying runway after earlier rainfall, yet he extracted everything from the car and the surface. The Jesko Absolut’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8, low drag coefficient and advanced traction control combined to deliver relentless pace and braking stability, underscoring its position as the fastest fully homologated production car over this demanding 0-400-0 km/h test.
The improvements helped Lundh complete 0-400-0 km/h in 25.21 seconds and 0-250-0 mph in 25.67 seconds, trimming more than 2.5 seconds from the previous 27.83-second 0-400-0 km/h mark set by the same car in 2024. The verified splits read as follows: 0-400 km/h in 16.77 seconds and 400-0 km/h in 8.44 seconds; 0-250 mph in 17.18 seconds and 250-0 mph in 8.49 seconds.
Christian comments on the improvements made since last year’s record run: “Our software engineers have been tweaking and adjusting the Light Speed Transmission & Engine Management system and have introduced a new torque control system which manages the grip of the Absolut like never before. That we achieve this level of performance with a production car utilising a combustion engine with rear wheel drive only - beating all 4-wheel drive electric cars in a straight line is almost magical and shows that “truths” can be rewritten."
Racelogic verified the run and data using its industry-standard equipment, confirming the Jesko Absolut’s record-breaking performance.
