Farizon SV Taxi and Combi: Born-Electric Large Van Variants
Farizon has unveiled two new variants of its born-electric SV large van, a high-capacity taxi and a multi-passenger Combi, at the recent Hong Kong Auto Expo. Both arrive first in the Chinese market and showcase how the SV’s GXA-M platform adapts to diverse passenger transport needs in the electric van segment.
Farizon confirms Big Bee Taxi in Hong Kong as the first customer for the SV taxi, placing an order for 1,000 units. The seven-seat electric taxi prioritises comfort, space and luggage capacity. A power sliding side door creates a 900 mm opening that compares favourably with many high-end MPVs, and the hidden B-pillar with a lower 408 mm cabin step helps passengers enter and exit quickly. At the rear, double doors open to a 1,780 mm loading aperture and a 630 litres boot that takes six large 20-inch suitcases with ease. Inside, three rows seat seven passengers beneath a 1,340 mm cabin height. A wide central aisle in the second row lets third-row occupants reach their seats swiftly. Cupholders, a multi-function storage box, and USB Type-C charging ports in every row enhance day-to-day usability for riders and operators.
The Farizon SV Combi targets fleets and operators that need to carry people and kit in one electric large van. Buyers can specify five or six seats. An ultra-low platform height of 520 mm and the SV’s hidden B-pillar design support easy access for frequent stops. Cargo space in L1 versions, measuring 5 metres in length, stands at 3.8 m3, while L2 versions at 5.5 metres offer 5 m3 for luggage and equipment, giving the Combi a flexible mix of passenger comfort and payload.
Both new models leverage the GXA-M platform’s Cell-to-Pack (CTP-S) battery technology, which connects individual cells directly to the pack rather than using separate modules. Farizon states this improves body rigidity by 20 per cent compared with conventional module packaging. The SV taxi offers a range of up to 370 km, and the Combi up to 319 km. A 20% to 80% top-up takes about 30 minutes, cutting charging downtime for busy urban duty cycles.
While Farizon currently sells the SV taxi and SV Combi only in China, the company continues to assess opportunities in other global markets as it expands exports of the SV panel van. This staged roll-out positions the Farizon SV line to serve international taxi fleets, shuttle operators and mobility providers that seek efficient, born-electric solutions.
