Volvo P1800 Cyan GT Arrives in Sweden With Bespoke Upgrades
Cyan Racing delivered a Volvo P1800 Cyan in GT specification to a prominent Swedish car collector, marking the model’s first arrival on home soil. The car debuts newly designed 17-inch centre-lock wheels, a twin-tip exhaust and refined interior details that elevate the classic silhouette.
“Our latest Volvo P1800 Cyan is a further celebration of the iconic GT cars from the sixties, of which the original Volvo P1800 is one of the true heroes,” said Christian Dahl, CEO of Cyan.
He continued, “We are glad to make our first delivery to our home country, where the car is built and designed, especially to a client who has one of Sweden’s biggest car collections. We are also introducing several new features to this car, which further add to the versatility of the Volvo P1800 Cyan.”
The Cyan team tailored the recently delivered coupé to the client’s preferences, finishing the body in beige metallic and pairing it with a sand leather-and-fabric cabin. They complemented the look with the new centre-lock wheels and the bespoke stainless-steel exhaust that underscores the car’s purposeful note.
Cyan’s designers, fabricators, engineers and mechanics spend 12 to 15 months restoring and re-engineering each Volvo P1800 Cyan, maintaining constant dialogue with every owner to ensure a personal outcome.
The company unveiled the first track-inspired Volvo P1800 Cyan in 2020 and released the more road-focused GT version in 2024. For grand touring, the GT model features a unique damper and differential setup, an altered roll cage, a newly designed carbon-fibre prop shaft, and additional sound-deadening material.
High-strength steel and a carbon-fibre body keep kerb weight close to 1,000 kg, preserving the agile character that defines the Volvo P1800 Cyan.
Customers can choose an output of between 350 hp and 420 hp from the two-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The Swedish client opted for the whole 420 hp package, coupled with a five-speed bespoke Holinger gearbox that delivers sharp engagement and exemplary feedback.
