Ferrari Amalfi Spider: Open-Top V8 Style and Versatility
Ferrari has unveiled the new Ferrari Amalfi Spider, a V8 2+ spider with a front-mid-mounted engine that strikes the ideal balance between contemporary sportiness and versatility in the Ferrari range. Ferrari created this open-top sports car for drivers who want a more dynamic driving experience without sacrificing comfort or style. The Ferrari Amalfi Spider combines outstanding performance, everyday versatility and the unique thrill of open-top motoring, so every journey feels more engaging.
This V8 spider captures the Ferrari sporting lifestyle in an open-top format. It blends performance, elegance, driving pleasure, ease of use and versatility in one cohesive package. With the roof down, drivers and passengers enjoy a closer connection to the road and the sensations of open-air driving, while the car still delivers the comfort and everyday usability expected of a modern Ferrari convertible.
Ferrari shaped the Ferrari Amalfi Spider to preserve the proportions and volumes of the Ferrari Amalfi, so it keeps its elegant, flowing silhouette even when the roof is open. The soft top enhances the car’s versatility and gives it a clear, distinctive place in the Prancing Horse range. It also adds a more expressive character through a broad choice of personalisation options, with four colours in tailor-made fabric and two in technical fabric, including the new Tecnico Ottanio. Optional contrast stitching highlights both the car’s sporting character and its refined elegance. The distinctive weave of the technical fabric also creates a shimmering effect that enhances the material’s three-dimensional quality.
The soft top opens in 13.5 seconds, and drivers can operate it while travelling at speeds of up to 60 km/h. When the roof folds away, its compact 220 mm-thick packaging helps maximise luggage space. The car offers 255 litres with the roof closed and 172 litres with the roof open, which suits everyday driving as well as weekend escapes. A five-layer fabric provides acoustic and thermal insulation, with soundproofing and heat insulation comparable to that of a Ferrari retractable hard top (RHT). This solution lets occupants appreciate the quality of the soft-top material even when they drive with the roof down.
Like the Ferrari Amalfi, the cabin uses a dual-cockpit layout and an evolved driver-car interface. Ferrari includes a steering wheel with physical buttons, the return of the iconic start button, an integrated central display and controls that support natural interaction, even during the most dynamic driving. The 2+ configuration adds practicality, with rear seats that suit travel with children or help increase load capacity. An integrated wind deflector in the rear bench backrest, operated at the touch of a button, also improves comfort by reducing turbulence during open-top driving.
Ferrari based the car’s design on a fluid, minimalist approach, with sculpted volumes and clean surfaces that express modernity and dynamism. The front end features a large air intake and a long, sculpted bonnet that covers the 640 hp turbocharged V8 engine. At the rear, the integrated active spoiler improves high-speed stability, while forged wheels and carbon fibre details complete a sporty yet sophisticated look.
