Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Joins Gran Turismo 7 in Breakthrough EV Deal
Xiaomi and Polyphony Digital today unveil a landmark partnership at Round One of the Gran Turismo World Series 2025, confirming that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra—Xiaomi EV’s flagship high-performance luxury electric vehicle—will debut in Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first Xiaomi model to feature in the celebrated racing simulator.
Gran Turismo stands as one of the most authentic driving simulators worldwide; its meticulously modelled engineering parameters influence real-world vehicle dynamics research and unite car enthusiasts across the globe. By introducing the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the franchise underscores the rapid rise of smart, high-performance electric vehicles and reinforces Xiaomi’s growing presence in the automotive sector.
In May 2025, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi met Xiaomi Group Founder, Chairman and CEO Lei Jun in Beijing. Yamauchi test-drove the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and toured Xiaomi’s state-of-the-art EV factory in Yizhuang, deepening collaboration between the two innovators.
Kazunori Yamauchi stated: "We are delighted to begin this partnership with Xiaomi. The Chinese automotive industry has progressed rapidly, and Xiaomi, a relatively new player in the automotive sector, has already created an exceptional vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, as a pivotal part of its comprehensive innovative ecosystem, which spans smartphones, wearables, and home appliances.
Beyond this, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype has shattered conventional performance benchmarks at the Nürburgring. Witnessing these achievements, I am deeply moved by Xiaomi’s courage, curiosity, passion, and relentless dedication to realising such milestones. This spirit resonates profoundly with Gran Turismo and Polyphony Digital’s philosophy."
Lei Jun remarked: "We deeply resonate with Mr. Yamauchi's visionary philosophy of building a better society through technology. This aligns perfectly with Xiaomi's mission to let everyone in the world enjoy a better life through accessible and innovative technology. Our shared values paved the way for this collaboration.
Gran Turismo's worldwide reputation for uncompromising quality and experience makes us particularly honoured to have Xiaomi SU7 Ultra included. We look forward to introducing more Gran Turismo players and automotive enthusiasts to the capabilities of high-performance smart EVs like ours."
At the announcement, Yamauchi highlighted the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra as a standout in the smart EV segment, noting that its competitive performance on the Nürburgring Nordschleife underlines Xiaomi EV’s formidable engineering capabilities.
Xiaomi—recognised as a global technology leader—completed its "Human x Car x Home" ecosystem in 2024 with the launch of its first smart EV, the Xiaomi SU7. The top-tier Xiaomi SU7 Ultra features proprietary innovations, including Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V8s tri-motor system, which delivers 1,548 PS, exceeds 350 km/h, and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds, securing multiple four-door lap records.
Engineers optimise weight distribution with 21 carbon-fibre components covering 5.5 m², pairing luxury craftsmanship with aerodynamics. Xiaomi EV’s research team rigorously refines technologies such as torque vectoring and adaptive damping at circuits including the Nürburgring Nordschleife, ensuring real-world safety and handling translate to every drive.
Through relentless on-track validation, the team iteratively improves vehicle dynamics, proving that exceptional lap times embody technological excellence, uncompromising quality and superior safety standards.
At the event, Zhoucan Ren, Chief Test Driver and Head of Vehicle Dynamics Development at Xiaomi EV, said: "Our team will maintain a continuous presence at the Nürburgring to relentlessly refine our products and push the boundaries of what's possible in high-performance luxury vehicles."
Gran Turismo 7 will integrate the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra through a co-development process with Xiaomi EV, faithfully reproducing its luxury aesthetics and driving dynamics for players worldwide. Looking ahead, Xiaomi and Gran Turismo will collaborate further on the Xiaomi VISION GRAN TURISMO concept vehicle, underscoring their shared commitment to innovation and the future of innovative, high-performance electric mobility.
