MINI 1965 Victory Edition Celebrates Monte Carlo Glory

Motorsport runs deep in Monte Carlo’s history, and MINI has claimed standout success there. In 1965, the legendary Mini Cooper S, driven by Timo Mäkinen with co-driver Paul Easter, won the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. People praised the car at the time for its innovative technology, strong performance, and nimble agility in extreme weather. MINI carries those qualities forward and updates them in the new MINI 1965 Victory Edition. This special edition makes a confident style statement and keeps typical MINI craftsmanship, while building on the brand’s rally heritage.

MINI offers the MINI 1965 Victory Edition globally across the MINI John Cooper Works, John Cooper Works Electric, and MINI Cooper S models. In the US market, the edition will be exclusive to the MINI John Cooper Works 2-Door only. The MINI John Cooper Works delivers an impressive 228 hp and up to 280 lb-ft of torque. With that output, the model sprints from a standstill to 60 MPH in just 6.1 seconds.

“Since the late ’60s, MINI has built a legacy of offering iconic Special Editions,” said Vikash Joshi, Product Manager, MINI USA. “This latest drop of our 1965 Victory Edition honours MINI’s rally heritage while celebrating the individuality and exclusivity that continue to define the brand authentically.”

The MINI 1965 Victory Edition blends vintage character with a modern edge. It nods to the legendary motorsport colours of the 1960s with Chili Red exterior paint, then adds a white trim stripe that runs from the bonnet to the roof and rear to underline the car’s sporty stance. As a signature feature, a white “52” graphic appears on both sides of the vehicle, referencing the number on the original rally car campaigned in 1965.

The edition includes a panoramic roof in Glazed White, which creates a crisp, athletic contrast with the Chili Red body. A subtle “1965” sticker on the C-pillar draws the eye and highlights the historic year of victory. The 18-inch alloy wheels in the JCW Lap Spoke 2-tone design give the vehicle a dynamic look while supporting confident performance and safe handling across a wide range of road surfaces. MINI reinforces the rally theme with floating wheel centre caps and JCW valve stem caps finished in the edition’s colour scheme, which adds extra sporting detail.

The cabin combines sportiness with everyday comfort. The door sills greet you with white “1965” lettering on a red-and-black background, which adds an instantly exclusive feel to the cockpit. Each model in the edition also includes a placard on the inside edge of the door that commemorates the historic rally.

MINI bases the interior on the traditional JCW colour palette and familiar JCW trim. Anthracite and red finishes create a refined look while keeping a sporty contrast with the exterior paintwork. MINI selects the edition-specific details to create a cohesive overall effect. The 6 o’clock spoke of the sports steering wheel, and the storage box in the centre console carries “1965” lettering, which makes a subtle but purposeful reference to MINI’s motorsport heritage. The racing number of the victorious 1965 Cooper S also appears on the key cap of the exclusive edition, keeping that historic success close at hand every day.

From March 2026, MINI will offer the MINI 1965 Victory Edition for sale in all participating markets, including the US. MINI will offer the edition in limited numbers. In the US, the MINI 1965 Victory Edition MSRP is $46,220 plus $1,175 Destination and Handling.
