Defender 4x4 Range Gains Bold Design, Tech and Colour Upgrades

Upgraded finishes, a refreshed design, and cutting-edge technology make the unstoppable Defender 4x4 lineup more distinctive and adventure-ready than ever across the 90, 110, and 130 body styles, including the formidable Defender OCTA. Designers introduce a crisp headlight signature, standard fog lights and flush rear lights with smoked lenses. They enrich the exterior palette with contemporary colours such as Woolstone Green and Borasco Grey, and refine detailing with premium materials. Inside, a 13.1-inch touchscreen provides occupants with faster and more intuitive control of the infotainment system.

Engineers introduce Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control to the Defender for the first time, enhancing progress across rough terrain. Adventurers in the long-wheelbase Defender 130 can now specify an integrated air compressor that lets them adjust tyre pressures on the move.

Defender OCTA, the performance flagship, now wears exclusive Sargasso Blue paint and tactile Textured Graphite accents. From late 2025, customers will also be able to order a Patagonia White Matte Wrap for Defender OCTA and 5.0-litre V8 variants.

"More than five years after its introduction, Defender has become an enduring success. With a bloodline that can be traced back to the first Series I of 1948, Defender continues to capture the imagination of our clients. The range now includes everything from the Hard Top commercial to the epic Defender OCTA. With production at full capacity to meet demand, the latest changes are part of our continuous commitment to make adventures even more satisfying. Fresh design enhancements, new colours and an expanded range of accessories follow Defender’s comprehensive upgrade last year, ensuring our iconic 4x4 is better than ever," said Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Defender.

Stylists optimise the front and rear bumpers, finish them in Silicon Silver or Carpathian Grey Satin on most models, and apply a new textured pattern to bonnet inserts and side vents. They complete the look with Gloss Black Defender-branded wheel centre caps. Redesigned headlights provide a distinctive signature, while flush-fitting tail lights gain a dark tint that boosts visibility and delivers a clean aesthetic. A gloss-black grille bar and dark oval badge are now standard features.

Customers can specify a precision-crafted 22-inch seven-spoke Diamond Turned Dark Grey alloy wheel and choose fresh body colours. Metallic Borasco Grey draws inspiration from a Californian silver mine, delivering a bright finish, while Woolstone Green pays homage to British landscapes with warm undertones and subtle mica highlights.

A larger 13.1-inch touchscreen headlines interior upgrades, sitting above a newly positioned dash-mounted gear shifter for ergonomic control. The latest centre console maximises storage. A sliding section conceals small items in a cubby yet preserves access to deeper stowage below. The Signature Suite upgrade features removable side pockets with discreet cable routing, while a centre jump seat enables practical three-abreast seating, as specified.

Optional Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control allows drivers to set their preferred comfort level over challenging terrain. The system automatically modulates speed to maintain composure, leaving the driver free to steer. A new Driver Attention Monitor uses a forward-facing camera to track the driver’s gaze and issues audio-visual alerts if it detects distraction. Owners can tailor or turn off the function through the driver assistance menu.

With 635 PS from a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, 6D Dynamics suspension, Body and Soul Seats and a dedicated OCTA Mode, Defender OCTA stands as the fastest and most capable Defender yet. The updated colour palette introduces Borasco Grey and the all-new Sargasso Blue, complementing the existing Charente Grey and Petra Copper options—the latter shimmer with a coarse sparkle reminiscent of the Sargasso Sea.

From late 2025, a Patagonia White Matte Wrap—named after the snow-dusted peaks of Santa Cruz, Arizona—will be available for Defender OCTA and 5.0-litre V8 models, providing a crisp, smooth finish. Customers can also order Chopped Carbon Fibre exterior and interior accents, Matte Protective Film, four interior colourways and multiple wheel-and-tyre combinations, including 20-inch forged alloys. Textured Graphite exterior details underline Defender OCTA’s rugged luxury. The matte surface with high-intensity metallic flake is featured on the bumpers, bonnet vent inserts, side fender surrounds, and two-piece bonnet script, which boasts a Phosphor Bronze outer finish.

Explorer, Adventure and Urban packs enable endless personalisation. New individual accessories include black versions of the Expedition Roof Rack, Cross Bars, and Front Undershield, as well as a dark rear scuff plate alongside the existing bright option. Owners may select deployable or fixed side steps for easier access. Engineers bolster Defender OCTA’s utility with a 4,500-kg-rated winch housed beneath a chopped carbon fibre cover, while the Defender 130 benefits from the integrated air compressor, ideal for reinflating tyres after sand driving. Updated matte black bonnet decals now carry fresh Defender script across the 90, 110 and 130.
