Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger Debuts at Lake Como Showcase
On 24 May 2025, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated the centenary of its legendary Phantom at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the world-famous luxury car event on Lake Como. The marque unveiled the Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger, a one-off Phantom Extended that honours the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger and highlights the brand’s cinematic heritage.
“The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is the perfect setting for Rolls-Royce, as both this gathering and our marque celebrate the motor car as an object of art, craftsmanship and cultural expression. In this exceptional location, we are proud to make the public debut of Phantom Goldfinger, a remarkable expression of our Bespoke capabilities and a powerful tribute to a film cherished by the client. To have the original 1937 model, which featured in the film and inspired this motor car, displayed at the event makes this moment even more special. Presenting these exquisite Phantoms and original artworks created by our designers in tribute to the nameplate in its centenary year is a fitting celebration of our pinnacle motor car,” said Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
Revealed in 2024, the bespoke Phantom Goldfinger draws inspiration from the 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville driven by Auric Goldfinger. Rolls-Royce displayed that historic model beside its modern counterpart, allowing guests to trace a lineage that now spans a full century. The new car’s 18- and 24-carat gold accents, cinematic motifs and layered storytelling details pay tribute to the film’s characters, settings and themes.
To mark Phantom’s 100th anniversary, designers at Goodwood produced eight original artworks, each portraying a generation of the flagship in the artistic style of its decade, illustrating the influence Phantom has exerted over ten decades.
An impeccably restored Phantom V led the opening parade, reminding spectators that heads of state and cultural icons have long chosen the model as a symbol of authority and leadership.
Amid a year rich in Italian cultural and luxury events, the Villa d’Este showcase confirmed Rolls-Royce's Bespoke artistry. It demonstrated Phantom’s power to inspire, captivate and lead into its second century.
