Alpine A424 Targets FIA WEC Glory in Final Hypercar Season

Alpine, a leading name in international motorsport, will contest its third and final season in the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). The team introduces a livery that reflects the programme’s maturity. The Alpine A424s also feature focused aerodynamic refinements, which Alpine delivered through continuous off-season development.

Portuguese driver António Félix da Costa joins Austrian Ferdinand Habsburg and Frenchman Charles Milesi in the #35 Alpine A424. Jules Gounon, Frédéric Makowiecki and endurance racing newcomer Victor Martins make up an all-French crew in the #36 sister car. Alpine comes into its final campaign after its maiden win at the 2025 6 Hours of Fuji. Les Bleus now aim to take on stronger competition than ever.

Alpine brings deep endurance racing experience to this effort and has raced continuously since 2013. The A-arrow brand now begins its third and final campaign with the Alpine A424, a Hypercar designed and developed by the Alpine Tech teams in Viry-Châtillon.

After a learning season in 2024, Alpine Endurance Team hit new milestones with two podiums before the Alpine A424 secured its first win at the 2025 6 Hours of Fuji. The team did not settle after that breakthrough. Les Bleus worked step by step through the winter to deliver stronger consistency at the front of the FIA WEC field.

Alpine unveiled the Alpine A424 on Wednesday, 18 February at the Atelier Alpine Paris. The car keeps the architecture that has already proved competitive. It also adds targeted aerodynamic updates within the FIA WEC rules. The livery evolves from the 2025 design, sharpening the character lines and the Hypercar’s signature styling. Alpine also links the look to the blue, white and red of the French flag.

Team Principal Philippe Sinault and Sporting Director Nicolas Lapierre lead the Alpine Endurance Team into this season. They aim to fight in every race and to show the competitive spirit that defines Alpine.

Charles Milesi and Ferdinand Habsburg have raced with the team since the start of its Hypercar programme. They also played a key role in the Alpine A424’s first victory. António Félix da Costa now joins them in the #35 car. In the #36 sister car, Jules Gounon and Frédéric Makowiecki will race alongside Victor Martins to complete an all-French trio.

The six drivers will combine their experience, pace and skill across an eight-round FIA WEC season. The calendar spans four continents and includes the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Alpine will also face seven of the most prestigious manufacturers in world motorsport.

Axel Plasse, VP Alpine Tech: "We have a busy year ahead of us in the FIA WEC. We are fully committed and determined to deliver our best in every race of the championship."
