Aston Martin AMB 002 Roadster: The First Road Bike

Aston Martin and Brough Superior proudly announce the AMB 002 Roadster, the first road bike to emerge from the ongoing collaboration between these two iconic, historic British performance brands. It follows the sensational track-only AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro superbikes, which the partnership introduced in 2019 and 2022.

The AMB 002 Roadster is an all-new machine that continues Aston Martin and Brough Superior's radical exploration of motorcycle design and engineering, in the form of a lightweight, razor-sharp machine built for maximum enjoyment on the road.

As an expression of the pure, pared-back essence of a rider-focussed sports bike, the AMB 002 uses fluid lines, compact proportions and precisely sculpted carbon fibre body elements to create a form packed with drama and dynamic tension. Emphasising its unique forward-biased kinetic style while giving glimpses of the motorcycle's mechanical beauty, the AMB 002 stands as an unmistakable product of the Aston Martin and Brough Superior collaboration.

The Aston Martin Design Studio's work shows in every curve and detail of the AMB 002. The pebble-smooth shape of the carbon fibre fuel tank and side fairings perfectly expresses the relationship between form and function, rising to meet the rider when tucked out of the slipstream. Crescent-shaped gills slice into the flanks to aid engine cooling and streamline the airflow, while wire-design stalks for the low-slung mirrors embody the AMB 002's lightweight construction.

The bike also carries more direct four-wheeled influence in abundance. The design team has reimagined the iconic side-strake, piercing it through the side fairing and extending it forwards to encapsulate the headlamp. Twin oval exhausts feature ribbed heat sinks which echo the exhaust finisher design of Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S. A dramatic array of rear light blades matches the type fitted to the tails of the Aston Martin Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla hypercars. At the same time, keyless function, a backlit ignition button and hand-crafted saddle leather seat pads bring touches of luxury and craftsmanship found in Aston Martin's series production road cars.

Marek Reichman, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer of Aston Martin, said: "Having created two of the most remarkable track-only motorcycles ever built in the AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro, it was always a long-term dream to make an Aston Martin motorcycle for the road. Combining the bold design aesthetic and pioneering engineering innovation that define Aston Martin and Brough Superior's work to date, the AMB 002 is a vivid expression of our shared passion for sculptural, visceral, covetable machines. It promises an ownership and riding experience unique in the world of motorcycling; an irresistible road bike for keen motorcyclists and discerning collectors alike."

Exceptional design, materials, manufacturing and craftsmanship define all Aston Martin and Brough Superior motorcycles. Achieving such high standards rules out mass production, which is why, like its track-only predecessors, Aston Martin and Brough Superior will limit AMB 002 production to just 300 individually built motorcycles.

Thierry Henriette, President of Brough Superior Motorcycles Sas, added: "This motorcycle is truly one of a kind, both in its design and in the riding experience it delivers. As striking dynamically as it is visually, this razor-sharp roadster offers exhilarating sensations, creating the impression of becoming one with a lightweight, precise blade, propelled by our all-new, even more powerful engine. The rider's upright posture and the completely unobstructed field of vision combine to create a unique feeling of gliding above the road with absolute confidence and complete control."

Befitting its historic significance as the first motorcycle from the partnership designed for the road, the AMB 002 Roadster showcases truly original, state-of-the-art engineering. The result of a bespoke development process, Brough Superior has designed and engineered it from scratch, without compromise or carry-over componentry.

At its heart sits an all-new 1083cc four-stroke water-cooled V-Twin developing 130bhp and 110 Nm of torque. Brough Superior tunes the engine for strong low-and mid-range torque with a smooth, thrilling top end, giving the AMB 002 a responsive, engaging character with accessible, exhilarating performance. Precisely tailored for maximum enjoyment on the road, the engine aims to make every ride, and every rider, feel special.

Brough Superior designs, machines and assembles the AMB 002's engine in-house at its headquarters in Toulouse, France. The engine features exquisite CNC-machined billet cases, optimised for weight reduction and structural efficiency. This is just one of many areas where Brough Superior demonstrates mastery of meticulous, aerospace-grade processes and materials.

The new V-Twin sits within an extraordinary titanium frame. Brough Superior mills the frame from a solid billet, and it forms a structural spine, a striking feature of the brand's unique backbone architecture. Weighing just 5kg, a fraction of a conventional design, the AMB 002's frame is key to achieving a perfect 50:50 weight distribution.

Carbon fibre body panels and a carbon fibre fuel tank help achieve an exceptionally low centre of gravity, and the AMB 002's centralised mass creates an immediate sense of balance and agility. Combined with its lightweight build of just 190kg and an abundance of low and mid-range torque, the AMB 002 combines muscle performance with nimble athleticism.

Brough Superior refined another unique solution and applied it to the AMB 002: the distinctive double-wishbone 'Fior fork' front suspension. This design avoids the compromises of conventional telescopic forks by separating steering and braking forces while maintaining precise control of front-end geometry.

As an evolution of the system Brough Superior developed for the AMB 001 Pro, the AMB 002 delivers outstanding steering precision and agility while also giving the rider confidence-inspiring stability through high-speed corners. Thanks to the Fior system's anti-dive characteristics, it also gives the rider exceptional stability under braking, especially when braking while leaned over into a corner.

Stefano Saporetti, Director of Brand Diversification for Aston Martin, commented: "What began as an ambitious union of two historic British names has evolved into a powerhouse of luxury co-creation. The commercial journey from our first limited run to our current portfolio proves that the appetite for Aston Martin's design language extends far beyond four wheels when paired with Brough Superior's unparalleled engineering. This partnership has successfully transitioned from a milestone debut to a proven, long-term driver of brand value.

Aston Martin and Brough Superior are now taking initial orders for the hand-built, strictly limited AMB 002, with deliveries commencing in Q3 2027.
