Aston Martin Unveils N°001 Minami Aoyama Ultra-Luxury Townhouse

Aston Martin today launches its first ultra-luxury residence in Asia with the completion of N°001 Minami Aoyama in Tokyo. Working in partnership with leading Japanese luxury real-estate developer VIBROA Inc., the marque has fashioned a four-storey private townhouse in the coveted Omotesandō district, expanding the brand’s growing portfolio of bespoke Aston Martin residences worldwide.

This latest Aston Martin residence in Tokyo extends the company’s programme of high-end property ventures that already include Aston Martin Residences in Miami and The Astera on Al Marjan Island. Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman and his Gaydon design team collaborated closely with VIBROA to infuse every space with the craft, innovation and dynamic elegance that define Aston Martin sports cars.

Spanning three levels above a spacious basement, the 724 m² townhouse offers a serene sanctuary that seamlessly marries urban sophistication with meticulous execution. Chamfered metal fins wrap the façade, catching Tokyo’s shifting light while guarding privacy and offering tantalising glimpses of mirrored ceilings and curated planting on the first-floor spa terrace.

Inside, Reichman’s team echoed the marque’s material honesty and perfect proportions. “Throughout the design and construction of N°001 Minami Aoyama, we have worked closely with VIBROA to celebrate the influence of Tokyo’s culture, history and style,” he remarked. “From Miami’s sail-like silhouette to this striking architectural form, you can see the importance of proportion, visual drama, material innovation and craft.” VIBROA CEO Toshiyuki Yoshida added that partnering with Aston Martin “brings a unique dimension not just to this home, but the wider world of real estate in Japan”.

The Tokyo developer’s holistic approach provides residents with property maintenance, private banking, family education support, and concierge services. Aston Martin’s design, therefore, prioritised clean lines, seamless boundaries and panoramic views that connect occupants with the city while nurturing a calm retreat.

To maximise the sloping Minami Aoyama site, VIBROA excavated a substantial basement housing a gym, wine cellar, golf simulator and private spa alongside three en-suite bedrooms. The ground floor boasts an automotive gallery that frames two vehicles as sculptural centrepieces beneath a wave-textured metal ceiling; residents can screen the cars from the street yet admire them through an internal vision panel from the lounge.

Light, view and spatial progression guided every decision. As one ascends towards the roof terrace, darker materials give way to lighter tones, mirroring the journey into daylight. The terrace offers an outdoor kitchen, sunset panoramas, a planted green roof, and a view of Tokyo Tower, all accessed via a folded-steel staircase that recalls the artistry of origami.

Detailing reaches rarefied levels: a fully integrated Bowers & Wilkins audio system echoes the acoustic mastery of Aston Martin vehicles, while Molteni&C wardrobes and lava-stone kitchen surfaces express Italian finesse. On the first floor, a Hinoki-clad sauna and spa bath open onto a landscaped terrace with an Onsen pool.

As the first fully bespoke private residence in Asia created by Aston Martin’s design team, N°001 Minami Aoyama symbolises the brand’s expanding presence in Japan, following the Spring 2024 opening of Aston Martin Ginza. The townhouse affirms Tokyo’s status as a fertile ground for luxury real estate where automotive excellence meets architectural artistry.
