Aston Martin Vantage Doubles Up at Magny-Cours Silver Cup
Aston Martin Vantage dominated the fourth round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup at Magny-Cours, France, as Comtoyou Racing swept the Silver Cup in both hour-long races. The Belgian squad unleashed its latest-generation Vantage GT3 with Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy winner Jamie Day and 2025 candidate Kobe Pauwels. They charged from second on the grid to win Saturday's floodlit opener, then converted pole into a Sunday victory, securing their third straight class success after triumphing in Misano Race 2.
The relentless run lifted Day and Pauwels to 84.5 points and a six-point championship lead, each win worth 16.5. Comtoyou Racing now heads to the Valencia finale on 19–21 September as the clear favourite for the Silver Cup crown.
In Japan, partner outfit D’station Racing handed Vantage its first AUTOBACS SUPER GT GT300 victory of 2025. Charlie Fagg launched from second to win Saturday's sprint at Fuji, and team principal Tomonobu Fujii dominated from pole on Sunday. The double-capped D’station's first SUPER GT triumph since its landmark Suzuka win in June 2024 and underlined the competitive firepower of Aston Martin’s most successful GT3 machine.
Meanwhile, The Heart of Racing tackled a rough IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship clash at Road America. British drivers Tom Gamble and Casper Stevenson started second in GTD. They ran strongly until Gamble vaulted the #27 Vantage GT3 over the grass to avoid a spinning rival, the car briefly airborne. The robust Aston Martin recovered to ninth, finishing ahead of both immediate title adversaries. THOR sits third overall, 117 points behind with three rounds left and 350 points awarded per win, ensuring the championship quest remains alive.
