Aston Martin Vantage S: 680PS British Sports Car Unleashed

Aston Martin today unveils the Vantage S, the most performance-focused member of its Vantage sports car family. Building on the already thrilling, driver-centred Vantage, the new Vantage S adds more power, sharper handling and distinctive style, setting a fresh benchmark among front-engine luxury sports cars.

The launch continues the marque’s tradition of attaching the ‘S’ suffix to special, high-performance derivatives. This convention began with the Vanquish S in 2004 and was later followed by the acclaimed V8 and V12 Vantage S models. Following the recent DBX S, the Vantage S pushes the revival forward.

Aston Martin CEO, Adrian Hallmark, said, “For many decades, the illustrious Vantage nameplate has stood for the very best in performance, excitement and driving thrills. Those qualities were very much at the forefront when the new Vantage was launched to global acclaim last year. Exceeding those qualities was the challenge and motivation behind the new Vantage S. The result is a new benchmark in the front-engined ultra-luxury sports car sector; a car to excite Aston Martin’s passionate and discerning customers, and a vivid demonstration of the talent, scope and drive which exists within the marque today.”

Engineers have upgraded the formidable 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, delivering 680 PS at 6,000 rpm and 800 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm, for immediate in-gear punch. A recalibrated drive-by-wire throttle, tuned for each drive mode, enhances pedal feel, while optimised launch control cuts the 0–60 mph sprint to 3.3 seconds and 0–124 mph to 10.1 seconds. The top speed remains a blistering 202 mph.

Revised suspension hardware, softer rear spring rates, and a 10 per cent reduction in transmission-mount stiffness combine with updated Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers to deliver sharper turn-in, greater grip, and a smoother low-speed ride. Directly mounting the rear subframe intensifies steering connection, and fine-tuned camber, toe and caster settings help the British sports car attack corners with poise and stability.

Visually, the front-engine sports car signals its intent with gloss-black or carbon-fibre bonnet blades that vent hot air from the hot-V layout, discreet brass ‘S’ badges on the wings, and a full-width rear spoiler that boosts downforce by 44 kg at V-max, contributing to a total of 111 kg overall. New underbody aerodynamics, a front airdam and venturi vanes add a further 67 kg, while optional 21-inch Y-spoke wheels in satin black with red graphics reference the ‘S’ signature.

Inside, a unique Alcantara and leather Accelerate cabin pairs with satin carbon-fibre inlays, colour-matched embroidered ‘S’ logos made from almost 2,500 stitches and optional embossed Aston Martin wings pressed into the leather at 1.5 tonnes. Customers may specify red or silver anodised drive-mode rotaries matched to seatbelts and stitching, or choose the Inspire Sport interior with semi-aniline leather, Alcantara and dynamic quilting.

The Aston Martin Vantage S will charge up the hill at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, giving enthusiasts an early taste of its pace and soundtrack. Orders for the coupé and roadster are now open, with first UK deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025.
