Rimac Nevera R: World-Record Fastest Electric Hypercar
Rimac Nevera R smashes every performance record its predecessor set, reclaiming the coveted 0–400–0 km/h crown with a blistering 25.79-second run—2.04 seconds quicker than the previous holder—and confirming its status as the fastest-accelerating production car on the planet, electric or otherwise. Building on the original Nevera’s 23-record haul at Germany’s ATP proving ground in 2023, the new model surpassed all those achievements in one decisive sweep, independently verified by Dewesoft during high-speed mode validation ahead of customer deliveries.
The headline figure tells only part of the story. Nevera R rockets from 0–60 mph in 1.66 seconds, hits 100 km/h in 1.72 seconds, and blazes past 200 km/h in 3.95 seconds, outpacing the standard car by up to half a second at key benchmarks. It storms to 300 km/h in 7.89 seconds—1.33 seconds faster—before reaching 400 km/h in 17.35 seconds and topping out at a record 431.45 km/h (268.2 mph), the fastest speed ever recorded by an electric vehicle.
Engineers unlocked these gains by re-engineering every major component. A new fixed rear wing and larger diffuser boost downforce by 15 per cent while raising aerodynamic efficiency by 10 per cent. Bespoke Michelin Cup 2 tyres reduce understeer by 10 per cent and increase lateral grip by 5 per cent, working seamlessly with a recalibrated, next-generation all-wheel torque vectoring system that adjusts power to each wheel 100 times per second. Four independent motors deliver a combined 2,107 hp, giving the electric hypercar unrivalled traction and razor-sharp response.
Across the board, the numbers stun: 0–100 mph flashes by in 2.96 seconds; 0–200 mph falls in 9.25 seconds; 100–200 km/h takes only 2.22 seconds; and 200–300 km/h disappears in 3.89 seconds. The quarter-mile clocks 7.90 seconds, the standing mile 19.71 seconds, and a full-throttle 0–250–0 mph dash stops the timers at 26.20 seconds. Deceleration matches acceleration, as 0–100–0 km/h requires just 3.32 seconds.
“When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached. In a single generation, we had created a performance leap that would have previously taken decades. But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here,” declares Mate Rimac, Founder and President of the Rimac Group and CEO of Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Technology.
The original Nevera still holds illustrious titles, from its 256 mph production-EV top-speed run to the 49.32-second Goodwood Hillclimb record and a 7:05.298 Nürburgring lap. Nevera R now stands poised to chase and eclipse those benchmarks as well. With only 40 units available worldwide at a starting price of €2.3 million, each Nevera R embodies the most exhaustive collection of world records ever achieved by a hypercar, offering fortunate owners a slice of genuine automotive history.
