Bovensiepen Zagato GT: Italian Design, Bavarian Engineering

The Bovensiepen name has long commanded respect within the automotive world, and it now introduces a marque devoted to Fine Driving. Drawing on decades of engineering, development and meticulous production in Buchloe, the company opens a fresh chapter that celebrates precision and harmony in every detail.

Specialists in Bavaria shape each project from concept to road, crafting timeless forms around outstanding engineering. Enthusiasts who relish dynamic performance and flawless execution share this passion, recognising Bovensiepen for its determination to push boundaries through elegant innovation.

The inaugural model, the Bovensiepen Zagato Gran Turismo, unites unmistakable Italian design with proven Bavarian engineering. Created in collaboration with Milan’s storied studio, it stands as a contemporary masterpiece of coachbuilding, its graceful silhouette pairing an elongated bonnet and pillar-less side profile with Zagato’s signature “Double Bubble” roof. A horizontal character line connects the muscular front wings to the sculpted rear, while a CNC-milled stainless-steel grille and low-set headlights announce the vehicle's intent.

“It was a team effort driven by the excitement of the project - the idea of launching the first car of a new luxurious brand - and the fact that we were bringing together the DNA of two families.... When you combine two DNAs, the result should be a stronger DNA,” explains Andrea Zagato, third-generation President of Zagato.

Lightweight carbon fibre body panels cloak a chassis tuned for Fine Driving. Bovensiepen equips the car with a sports suspension featuring adaptive Bilstein Damptronic dampers, forged 20-inch wheels, and a titanium exhaust system developed in collaboration with Akrapovič. A 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine releases 449 kW (611 bhp) and 700 Nm, launching the Gran Turismo from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and beyond 300 km/h.

“As two family businesses, we still view the automobile through romantic eyes. Today, many vehicles are highly standardised, and their romance is being lost,” says Andrea Zagato. “Our goal is to build automobiles for connoisseurs and enthusiasts who appreciate the perfect symbiosis of design and technology,” said Andreas Bovensiepen, CEO of Bovensiepen Automobiles. “It‘s a kind of mixture of Italian flair, a kind of sexy and soft design, and a German, excellent, almost architectural structure… it is a beautiful blend of these two automotive cultures, I would say,” adds Norihiko Harada, Zagato Chief Designer. „… if design doesn‘t take a risk, we cannot impress the people. This is something Andreas Bovensiepen understood immediately. He agreed to take a risk.“

Experts in Buchloe assemble each Bovensiepen Zagato by hand, investing over 250 hours in more than 400 bespoke parts. Clients personalise their cars extensively: forged wheels, unique paints, and a full Lavalina leather cabin, stitched over 130 hours, ensure every example becomes an individual statement. The infotainment display integrates seamlessly into the leather-clad fascia, milled aluminium shift paddles deliver tactile pleasure, and an individually numbered plaque underlines exclusivity.

The Bovensiepen Zagato debuts this weekend at Fuori Concorso on Lake Como. Deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of the second quarter of 2026, while pricing and production figures for this strictly limited luxury car will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2025. With a DIN kerb weight of 1,875 kg and adaptive driving modes ranging from Comfort to Sport Plus, the carbon-fibre coupé embodies Fine Driving every kilometre.
