Bugatti at The I.C.E. St. Moritz: Veyron, Bolide, Legends
Set in the rolling peaks of the Engadine Alps, St. Moritz evokes sophistication and unrivalled grace, and winter turns it into a pearlescent paradise. Lake St. Moritz transforms into a sea of sparkling white ice, and the village hosts one of the world’s most spectacular concours, The I.C.E. St. Moritz. The event showcases automotive grandeur and carries a spirit that defies winter’s rugged splendour. It celebrates the passion for peerless automotive excellence, and it salutes bliss and glamour.
Over two days, The I.C.E. St. Moritz attracts more than 20,000 automotive enthusiasts from around the globe. The event spreads across the banks and the vast expanse of the frozen lake, and that ageless passion descends on the world-famous Alpine destination. A tribute to a legend of Bugatti history then takes centre stage.
Bugatti honoured a design feat that raised the bar for performance, luxury and engineering. Three Veyron legends took to the ice, including a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ‘Soleil de Nuit’, a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ‘Rembrandt Bugatti’, and a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse ‘Meo Costantini’ from the Les Légendes de Bugatti collection. The display fused unmatched performance with unique refinement, balancing ice and fire, static presence, and dynamic artistry. Professional ice skaters weaved to and fro between the cars and captured a timeless moment of grace. Together, they created a unique celebration of the automotive icon that ushered in Bugatti's rebirth two decades ago, introduced the hypercar, and reshaped automotive history through an unmatched fusion of pure elegance and raw power.
Hedley Studios paid tribute to this illustrious icon of the 2000s and unveiled a unique, scaled tribute to the Type 35 for the first time. The marque introduced the Bugatti Baby II ‘Meo Costantini’ as that tribute. Accompanied by its Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse namesake, the one-of-one represents a fitting testament to Bugatti’s inimitable design language and the unparalleled degree of customisation that defines the world of the French marque.
As one showcase that spotlighted the splendour of Bugatti’s past concluded, another spectacle of Bugatti's present followed. On the iced track beside the lake, with onlookers mesmerised, Bugatti delivered an exclusive dynamic demonstration of the track-only Bolide. This hypercar takes the principles of Bugatti W16 performance to the extreme. Three unique examples and their owners graced the pristine ice and pushed the boundaries of possibility. They mastered mechanical performance amid the challenges of ice and snow, creating an unprecedented, singular Bugatti experience.
Precious members of Bugatti’s illustrious history also participated in the famous Concours of Elegance. The majesty of the Type 13, Type 35, and Type 37A appeared in the ‘Open Wheels’ class, and the iconic EB110 featured in the ‘Birth of the Hypercar’ category. Each model turned heads and captured imaginations across the opalescent wintry plain in its own inimitable style.
Away from the mesmerising displays on the icy expanse, Bugatti welcomed guests on the lake bank in the effortlessly elegant I.C.E. Village. The marque created a beautifully curated atmosphere of celebration, and Bugatti representatives welcomed discerning customers into a world of chalet-chic style. They also toasted the spirit of community and achievement that inimitably defines Bugatti.
“Embracing the magic of winter in such a spectacular setting is always to be enjoyed – but it is honouring the majesty of Bugatti vehicles, historic and present, that makes this extraordinary gathering so special for us. It provides an unequalled opportunity to celebrate all that makes our marque unique, as a family. Our discerning customers were hugely excited to be part of this wondrous event, and to drive their cars in such a spectacular environment – from the unprecedented Bolide showcase on the ice, to the elegant Veyron homage with graceful ice skaters. It all comes together seamlessly to showcase the passion and pioneering spirit that collectively fuels us, creating memories that last a lifetime,” Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director of Bugatti.
