RICTOR X4 Ultralight eVTOL Brings Personal Flight Closer

At CES 2026, RICTOR launched the X4, the world’s first "Hop-on-and-Take-off" ultralight eVTOL. The $39,900 price point disrupts the industry and brings personal flight within reach. The X4 complies with US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 103 regulations so that owners can fly it legally without airworthiness certification or a pilot’s licence. This approach lowers the barrier to entry for electric VTOL flight.

RICTOR built the X4 for practical use and everyday safety. It uses 63-inch carbon-fibre folding propellers in a 4-axis, 8-propeller configuration. This setup carries a 100kg payload while keeping noise below 65 decibels. RICTOR runs its proprietary Dynamic Balance Algorithm across all eight motors in real time, which keeps the aircraft stable in side winds up to Level 6.

RICTOR puts safety first with a semi-solid-state battery pack and a dual-battery redundancy design. This design supports a safe landing if one battery module fails. The X4 offers both pre-planned routes and manual control modes and supports very low-altitude flight down to 3 metres above ground. This combination suits use cases from urban commuting to outdoor adventure.

RICTOR designed the X4 for true portability. The aircraft folds down to a compact 1.2 cubic metres so that you can transport it in a standard pickup truck bed. It also supports in-vehicle charging while you drive or park, which delivers the promise of "fly anywhere, anytime."

"Our goal is not to compete with giants in the complex manned aviation track, but to pioneer a completely new, accessible market for 'light aerial mobility,'" stated the CEO of Kuickwheel Technology (RICTOR's parent company) at the launch event. "The X4 rivals the private aircraft of high-end enthusiasts, but we've made it radically more affordable and simplified its usage." RICTOR offers a launch price of $39,900 with a $5,000 deposit and plans first deliveries for Q2 2026.

RICTOR brings deep experience in smart mobility. The company launched in 2014, and China recognises it as a national-level SME leader. It holds nearly 500 patents in the field of smart short-distance transportation. Its proprietary KL.tech Expert System integrates seven major technologies, including FOC motor vector control, gyroscope attitude control, and intelligent BMS. This system keeps the company 2 to 3 years ahead in key areas. The company exports its e-bike and e-scooter products to over 80 countries and regions worldwide.

RICTOR started by solving the "last five kilometres" of ground travel, and it now moves into low-altitude mobility. With the RICTOR X4 ultralight eVTOL, the brand signals a clear ambition to shape the next phase of global smart mobility.
