CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT Enters Race Testing

After Mercedes-AMG completed the final touches to the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT in late July in Affalterbach, the development team immediately began an intensive testing phase. The prototype, finished in camouflage with yellow and red accents, now tackles its first driving dynamics challenges on dedicated test tracks and international race circuits. As the youngest and most extreme evolution of the GT family, it builds on the proven philosophy and strengths of the two-door Affalterbach sports car, while taking a clear step further in terms of radical design, track-focused precision, and pure performance.

Designers and engineers created a radical visual presence that signals a focus on maximum driving dynamics, intelligent lightweight construction and a performance profile that targets the limits of physics. The concept vehicle features a further optimised weight balance, AMG-typical V8 powertrain technology and an advanced aerodynamic package that enhances grip, stability and efficiency on the circuit. Through rigorous race track testing, Mercedes-AMG validates how all systems and complex components interact under the most challenging conditions, always in line with strict internal quality, reliability and performance standards expected of a high-performance Mercedes-AMG GT track car.

"With the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT, we are once again exploring the limits of what is possible. We have a world-class team working on this concept with incomparable AMG spirit. It takes us to the physical and driving dynamics limit. We have a vision and make a promise: The future will be extreme." Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of Business Units Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach.
