Horse Powertrain Debuts Modular Engines at AGRITECHNICA
Horse Powertrain, a leader in innovative low-emission powertrain systems, will showcase a lineup of advanced combustion engines and range extender solutions at AGRITECHNICA 2025, the world's largest agricultural machinery trade fair, through its Horse Technologies division. The stand will feature engines that provide direct vehicle propulsion, as well as dedicated systems that power range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs). Horse Powertrain will also present its new HORSE S10 engine, which powers a prototype Corvus Terrain utility terrain vehicle (UTV), highlighting a complete, real-world agricultural powertrain solution.
The HORSE S10 features a 1-litre, 3-cylinder engine that operates on petrol, ethanol, or flex fuels. It delivers 57 kW at 6,250 rpm and supports adaptation for a wide range of industrial applications worldwide. In partnership with Corvus, Horse Powertrain integrates the Stage V-certified S10 engine within a Corvus Terrain UTV, allowing attendees to view the engine in position and assess its suitability for demanding off-road use.
The HORSE H10 REX efficiently charges the battery of range-extended electric vehicles. Its 1-litre, 3-cylinder engine runs on petrol or ethanol and delivers up to 70 kW of continuous electric power. The system supports electrical architectures up to 800 V, enabling fast charging, and meets EU6d or PROCONVE L-8 emissions levels to support cleaner agricultural and industrial mobility.
The HORSE K15 REX uses a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that generates 65 kW of continuous electrical power through its generator. The powertrain supports electrical architectures of up to 800 V, enabling rapid charging capability. Operators can fuel the engine with conventional diesel, synthetic diesel or 10% biodiesel, which helps reduce lifecycle emissions while maintaining robust performance for off-road and utility applications.
The HORSE M20 REX features a 2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing 105 kW of continuous electric power at an emissions level of EU6d. It supports electrical architectures up to 800 V for fast charging and delivers efficient, reliable performance for larger agricultural and industrial electric vehicles that require higher output and extended operating hours.
Patrice Haettel, Chief Executive Officer at Horse Technologies Division, said: “Our modular powertrain solutions are designed with performance and efficiency in mind. In addition, they’re also compatible with biofuels, e-fuels, and flex fuel blends — enabling their use in a range of markets. In entering the agricultural powertrain market, Horse Powertrain is proving the value of our systems to off-road industries and reducing the emissions burden of their vehicles."
This deal represents Horse Powertrain’s first agreement in the agriculture sector. Corvus is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of UTVs, designing and producing all its vehicles entirely in Spain. With a range spanning from professional diesel UTVs to 100% electric solutions, the company specialises in robust, safe and configurable vehicles for the agricultural, industrial, forestry and defence sectors. This collaboration between Horse Powertrain and Corvus also marks Horse Powertrain’s entry into the market for recreational UTVs and SbS (Side-by-Side) vehicles, strengthening its European presence in both professional and leisure segments.
Enric Rabassa, CEO and Chief Engineer at Corvus, said: "For Corvus, working with Horse Powertrain means bringing automotive standards to UTV and SbS that were not previously applied in this sector. This alliance enables us to enhance our professional offerings and, simultaneously, pursue a significant qualitative leap for recreational vehicles with confidence. We are convinced that this alliance is the perfect way to accelerate our innovation with European technology that is reliable, enjoyable, and designed for real working conditions.”
Horse Powertrain will exhibit its full range of products in Hall 15, Stand 15H1, at AGRITECHNICA 2025, held at the Hanover Expo in Germany from 9 November to 13, 2025. The company invites visitors to explore its modular, low-emission powertrain and range extender solutions for future-ready agricultural and industrial equipment.
