Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie leads Zoute Auction
Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, presents one of the great hypercars of recent years, the Aston Martin Valkyrie, at its inaugural Zoute Concours Auction. Formula One superstar Daniel Ricciardo personally commissioned and owns this Valkyrie, which arrives in pristine condition with genuine motorsport provenance.
Ricciardo’s Valkyrie will headline the inaugural Broad Arrow Zoute Concours Auction on 10 October 2025, held in collaboration with Zoute Grand Prix Car Week. Approach Golf in Knokke-Heist will host the sale, which features about 70 highly collectable cars.
“We are thrilled to be presenting an incredibly rare Aston Martin Valkyrie at our first Zoute Concours Auction,” says Joe Twyman, VP of Sales for Broad Arrow’s EMEA Region. “The Valkyrie is the ultimate example of converting race car technology into a road car, and the fact that this one was personally specified and owned by Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo makes it truly unique and extremely desirable.”
Broad Arrow estimates this 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie at €2,400,000 to €2,800,000. The Valkyrie has stunned the hypercar market with its uncompromising design and performance. Aston Martin ended production in December 2024, making the opportunity to acquire one today rare and exciting. This 2023 example carries even greater allure because it was commissioned and owned by the celebrated former Red Bull Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo from new.
Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing jointly developed the Valkyrie to bring Formula One DNA to the road, with dramatic aerodynamics that showcase the involvement of Red Bull’s former design boss Adrian Newey. Cosworth partnered on the phenomenal 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, which pairs with a hybrid KERS system to deliver 1,000 hp and a heady 11,100 rpm redline.
Aston Martin first codenamed the project ‘Nebula’, combining Newey, Red Bull and Aston Martin Lagonda. The prototype, designated as AM-RB 001, was unveiled in 2016. Ricciardo encountered the project while racing for the Red Bull Formula One team and felt instantly captivated by a V12 road car that came as close as possible to the feel of his own race car.
“It feels like a race car and it looks like a race car,” comments Ricciardo. “I'm not used to having a roof over my head, but that's the only thing that really feels different; otherwise, it's a pretty straight-up race car.”
Ricciardo commissioned chassis number 089 with extensive personalisation by Aston Martin’s ‘Q’ bespoke division. Its Dichroic Dawn paintwork, a £30,000 option also known as ‘Badger Blue’, is a colour Ricciardo once saw on another Aston Martin, and he did not hesitate to choose it for his Valkyrie. The choice fits his nickname, ‘The Honey Badger’, although he says he chose it for the way it reveals the contours and aerodynamics of the car.
Aston Martin rendered the ‘clam veins’ and upper suspension shrouds in exposed 2x2 twill satin carbon. Ultra-lightweight magnesium performance wheels carry a matte black finish with Badger Blue centres. Pure Black Debossed Alcantara features throughout the interior, as does 2x2 twill satin carbon fibre. The removable steering wheel boasts silver-anodised toggle switches, and the carbon fibre bucket seats are finished in Pure Black Alcantara with contrasting silver stitching.
With Valkyrie production complete, collectors prize every example and rarely offer them publicly. This car has travelled only 160 km and has lived in Ricciardo’s private collection, making it not only one of the most striking of the 150 Valkyries built by Aston Martin but also one of the most desirable.
“Will we ever see another car like this again? I can't predict the future,” adds Ricciardo. “But when you ask if it is the pinnacle of road legal technology, then yes, I think it is.”
Broad Arrow will also offer a 2022 Aston Martin X Brough Superior Motorcycles AMB 001, estimated to be worth between €150,000 and €250,000. In 2020, Aston Martin teamed up with Brough Superior to create Aston’s first motorcycle, limited to just 100 examples. Aston Martin’s design team created a track-only machine, and the AMB 001 became the first Brough Superior to feature turbocharging. It features a 997 cc, 8-valve, 88-degree V-twin engine producing 180 hp. The rear subframe and bodywork utilise lightweight carbon fibre, and engineers CNC machine the aluminium frame, bolting it to the engine to enhance rigidity and reduce weight. As with the Valkyrie, artisans handcraft the leather and other materials, and Aston Martin fits the ‘lacewing’ badge. Designed for the Valkyrie and applied to the AMB 001, the chemically etched aluminium emblem is 99.4% lighter than the regular enamel badge and 30% thinner than a human hair.
The sale presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most evocative motorcycles of recent years. This machine unites the Brough Superior name with the first motorcycle to bear the Aston Martin winged logo.
“Presenting both Daniel Ricciardo’s Aston Martin Valkyrie and the exceptionally desirable Aston Martin X Brough Superior at our Zoute Concours Auction is extremely exciting,” says Gregory Tuytens, Head of Consignments in Belgium and the Netherlands for Broad Arrow. “We are looking forward to welcoming the world’s top collectors to the beautiful Approach Golf in Knokke-Heist, as well as online and on the telephone, for what will undoubtedly be intense bidding for these incredible machines.”
