Garagisti GP1: British Analogue V12 Hypercar Unveiled
Garagisti & Co. unveils the GP1, an all-new analogue hypercar that pairs a naturally aspirated 6.6-litre V12 with a carbon monocoque and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The team created it from a clean sheet with no compromise, building just 25 road cars.
Angel Guerra, formerly of Bugatti and Rimac, led the design with inspiration drawn from the icons of the ’80s, ’90s and early 2000s. World-class partners include Italtecnica for the engine, DEXET Technologies for carbon structures and aerodynamics, and motorsport suppliers such as Brembo, Öhlins and Xtrac. As a new British marque, Garagisti & Co. blends tradition, innovation and engineering excellence in pursuit of pure driving pleasure. A full press gallery of images is available.
The GP1 exists to make driving an unfiltered joy and to turn bespoke into an authentic experience, akin to having a private atelier. Garagisti & Co. positions this purist machine against a world of hybrids and algorithms, and it does so with conviction.
At its core sits an entirely new 6.6-litre naturally aspirated V12 developed by Italtecnica Srl, the renowned Italian motorsport and powertrain specialists. It delivers 800 hp at 9,000 rpm and more than 700 Nm of torque, and it thrills with a mechanical soundtrack that recalls significant motorsport engines. The longitudinally mounted 6-speed manual by Xtrac sends power to the rear wheels and heightens tactility and engagement.
The GP1’s upper surfaces celebrate the golden age of wedge design. Angel Guerra shaped it from a blank sheet, and enthusiasts will recognise echoes of the Lancia Stratos Zero, the Countach and other Gandini masterpieces. Yet the form remains its own: flowing, organic, modern and timeless. Beneath those coachlines, pure engineering takes over. Intelligent packaging allows some of the largest rear diffusers ever fitted to a road car, delivering genuine ground-effect performance.
Inside, the GP1 focuses on beauty, simplicity and purpose. The twin-cockpit layout removes distraction. Ventilation integrates seamlessly into the design, eliminating ducts and clutter. Every surface serves a purpose, and every control sits exactly where it should. “No oversized screens. No unnecessary gimmicks. Just you, the machine, and the road ahead,” was the brief to design lead Angel Guerra.
True to the spirit of analogue supercar icons from the ’80s, ’90s and early 2000s, the GP1 fulfils GT duties as well as circuit thrills. Despite an ultralight 1,000 kg dry weight and devastating pace, it offers comfort, measured cabin noise and luggage space for grand touring. Push harder, and the car transforms: raw, visceral and alive.
Garagisti takes its name from the rebellious privateer teams that shook up Formula 1 in the ’50s and ’60s. In that spirit, a coalition of specialists leads the project rather than generalists. Italtecnica Srl develops and calibrates the engine. DEXET Technologies leads chassis, monocoque and aerodynamic development. Angel Guerra shapes both exterior and interior. Brembo, Öhlins and other elite motorsport suppliers bring competition-grade componentry to the road. Together they create what big manufacturers cannot: a hypercar with no brand legacy to protect, no focus groups to please and no algorithms to optimise; only instinct, taste and engineering excellence.
Garagisti & Co. will build just 25 GP1 road cars, each hand-finished to its commissioner’s specification through a UK-based bespoke commissioning programme. The GP1 costs £2.45 million before local taxes and any applicable shipping fees. The first 12 commissioners join the Open Doors programme, gaining unprecedented access to intimate gatherings across the UK and Europe with the engineers, designers and visionaries shaping the GP1. This is a rare chance to influence, learn and witness the creation of a hypercar from the inside.
“Our vision for Garagisti was born from a simple question,” said Mario Escudero, co-founder of Garagisti & Co., “What if the golden age of analogue supercars never ended? What if icons like the Countach Evoluzione had sparked a lineage rather than a dead-end? What would the great cars of the ’80s, ’90s and early 2000s look like today if they’d evolved with new technology but kept their analogue soul?”
“We brought together some of the best minds in the world and answered that question with our hands, our hearts, and our passion. The GP1 is our answer.”
Revealed for the first time in detailed renderings, the Garagisti & Co. GP1 now moves through advanced engineering and production. Based in the heartland of British motorsport, the company champions transparency in its process, progress and pace, driven by passion, precision and a relentless pursuit of excellence. As the journey continues, Garagisti & Co. will announce further milestones in the creation of its debut model.
