Ferrari and Samsung Display Advance OLED Cockpit Tech

Ferrari continues its collaboration with Samsung Display on next-generation displays for its new models. Ferrari selected Samsung Display’s automotive OLED panels because the technology enables innovative forms for future models. The panels use ultra-thin bezels and deliver perfect blacks and deep contrast. These features improve the interior's appearance and enhance the driving experience.

According to Ernesto Lasalandra, Ferrari’s Chief Development & Research Officer, “Samsung Display’s extensive expertise in the design and manufacture of slim, lightweight OLED panels was an obvious plus for Ferrari to advance the digital environment in our next-generation models. In the luxury sector, elevating the client’s on-board experience is key, and Samsung’s support was essential in allowing us to introduce bespoke, cutting-edge display solutions that have never been seen before in the automotive sector.”

The technical collaboration between the two companies will also allow Samsung Display to demonstrate its technological leadership, as Zin-U Pak, Vice President and Head of Display Business EMEA, points out. “When people think of the world’s most iconic high-performance sports car, Ferrari immediately comes to mind. Ferrari has defined what excellence in motorsports looks like. Both the vehicles and the brand embody passion, relentless innovation, and the drive to be the best — values that strongly resonate with us at Samsung Display.

“We share a similar mindset: pushing boundaries, learning continuously, and setting new standards in our industry.

“Bringing together two teams that strive for the best creates a powerful synergy. With this partnership, we can deliver exceptional value to consumers and further strengthen Samsung Display’s position as a leader in next-generation display innovation.”

“The collaboration between Ferrari and Samsung Display,” continues Ernesto Lasalandra, “reflects several broader trends shaping the automotive industry, particularly in the realm of digitalisation, user experience, and premium branding. In the luxury segment, there’s a growing emphasis on customisable, immersive in-car experiences, and by leveraging Samsung’s OLED technology, Ferrari can offer more flexible, bespoke displays, enabling unique layouts and personalised driver/passenger interfaces, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality in its vehicles. Our technical collaboration underscores the importance of cross-industry contamination to deliver the next generation of automotive innovation.”

Samsung Display sees the same momentum in the sector. “The automotive industry is in the middle of an exciting transformation,” points out Zin-U Pak. “With electrification, the rise of software-defined vehicles, and rapid advances in AI and big-data processing, cars are evolving into autonomous, dynamic spaces — from a mobile office to an immersive living environment.

“At the heart of this evolution is the display. Both Ferrari and Samsung recognise that the driving experience needs a new level of differentiation beyond traditional automotive displays. Samsung OLED’s promise to the automotive customers is perfectly summed up in DRIVETM: Design Differentiation. Robust Reliability. Intelligent Safety. Visual Excellence. Expanded & Extendable.

“By combining Ferrari’s bold vision with Samsung Display’s cutting-edge technology, we can shape a new era of in-car experiences and inspire customers with something genuinely new and exciting.”
