GIGABYTE Unveils CQDIMM at CES 2026 With DDR5-7200

GIGABYTE, a leading computer brand, announces a breakthrough debut of CQDIMM (Clocked Unbuffered Dual In-Line Memory Module) technology at CES 2026. GIGABYTE pairs a CQDIMM-ready motherboard, the Z890 AORUS Tachyon ICE CQDIMM Edition, with advanced BIOS tuning to reach an industry-first DDR5-7200 result at full capacity using two 128GB DDR5 memory modules.

Manufacturers have traditionally faced significant trade-offs between DDR5 frequency and stability as they increase memory capacity. GIGABYTE applies its hardware and firmware design expertise to remove that compromise. On the hardware side, GIGABYTE optimises motherboard circuit layouts to reduce memory channel loading, improving signal integrity and keeping performance stable under heavy workloads. GIGABYTE also supports these gains with sophisticated BIOS tuning technology. Through an optimised clock driver architecture, GIGABYTE’s BIOS manages timing, signal synchronisation, and voltage behaviour to unlock extreme DDR5 performance.

This tightly integrated hardware–firmware approach keeps high-frequency DDR5 operation stable and efficient, so systems deliver consistent, uncompromising results. This industry-first milestone sets a new benchmark for high-performance computing and meets rising demand for extreme bandwidth and maximum memory capacity in AI computing, content creation, data-intensive workloads, and professional applications.

GIGABYTE also works with leading memory partners, including ADATA, Kingston, and TeamGroup, to accelerate CQDIMM adoption and ensure broad compatibility in next-generation PC systems.
