Goodwood Festival of Speed: Renault 5 and 4 Electrify UK Debut
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 10–13 July 2025, sell-out crowds will watch electrifying runs up the 1.16-mile hill as Renault unveils its latest electric icons. The vibrant Renault 5 E-Tech electric appears in Pop! Yellow and Pop! Green liveries, joined by the all-new Renault 4 E-Tech electric and a full-scale design model of the forthcoming Renault 5 Turbo 3E, all making their UK debuts on Renault’s stand.
Fresh from its spring launch, the multi-award-winning Renault 5 E-Tech electric takes centre stage. Priced from £22,995 and available to test-drive nationwide, the supermini has surged up the private EV registration charts since April. Throughout the weekend, it will sprint up the famous hill course, demonstrating its instant torque and agile handling.
The Renault 4 E-Tech electric stands nearby, reviving the original 4’s go-anywhere spirit with higher ground clearance, comfort-orientated suspension and generous interior space created by a long wheelbase. Designers incorporate heritage cues, such as three-part rear lights and an illuminated single-piece grille, into the modern bodywork. R Pass members can already reserve one of the first UK cars, and those who order between 1 and 14 July receive three years’ complimentary servicing when they finance through Mobilize Financial Services.
Renault also reveals the most powerful road car in its history: the Renault 5 Turbo 3E. The full-scale model previews a rear-wheel-drive pocket supercar that delivers 555 hp and a colossal 4,800 Nm of torque from twin in-wheel motors, launching the 1,450 kg coupé from 0–62 mph in under 3.5 seconds and on to 167 mph. Limited to 1,980 numbered examples—honouring the year the original Renault 5 Turbo debuted—the production car arrives in 2027 with prices from £140,000, and reservations are open now.
To whet enthusiasts’ appetites, the drift-focused Renault 5 Turbo 3E concept, nicknamed “Drifter”, returns to Goodwood after its 2023 crowd-pleasing performance, while a Renault 5 Maxi Turbo from the 1980s will perform its famous pirouettes on Thursday’s hill runs.
Renault Classic completes the spectacle with three historic Formula One machines: the 1978 RS10, piloted by Victor Jabouille; the RE40, driven by Nicolas Prost and Alain Serpaggi; and Michael Schumacher’s championship-winning B195, displayed statically.
Visitors can experience this blend of past and future from 10–13 July against the stately backdrop of Goodwood House in West Sussex.
