Gordon Murray Special Vehicles to Debut Two Supercars at Quail

Gordon Murray Group, the British advanced automotive engineering pioneer, will unveil two all-new Gordon Murray Special Vehicles supercars on 15 August at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. One model answers a bespoke customer commission, while the other springs directly from the GMSV design team; both embrace the marque’s trademark lightweight engineering and sculptural elegance. With all details hidden until the California reveal, anticipation among supercar collectors continues to grow.

The announcement arrives as production of the T.50 nears completion at the firm’s headquarters in Highams Park. By the end of July, the final examples of the 100-car run will leave the Surrey facility, each hand-built for drivers across 19 countries and celebrated as the purest expression of “Driving Perfection”.

“We are excited to take our existing customers on our GMSV journey in addition to bringing new owners into the Gordon Murray family. We are excited to offer customers the opportunity to bring their bespoke supercar dreams to life with the GMSV design and engineering teams. We’re also enthusiastic to show the world’s automotive fans our most unique expressions of the Gordon Murray Automotive ethos through GMSV,” says Phillip Lee, Gordon Murray Group CEO.

To sharpen focus, the company has adjusted its launch schedule, repositioning the next-generation T.33 reveal beyond the height of summer activity. Attention now turns to celebrating 60 years of Professor Gordon Murray’s visionary car design at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, followed by the double debut in California a month later.

“I can barely believe it’s been 60 years I’ve been designing and engineering race and road cars – I can’t wait to reminisce with the thousands of fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Gordon Murray Special Vehicles double debut that follows just a month later will offer customers old and new even more ways to be part of our celebration of cars and driving,” reflects Professor Murray.

Goodwood’s hillclimb will showcase the full Gordon Murray Automotive range—T.50, T.50s Niki Lauda and T.33 prototypes—alongside landmark machines from the designer’s illustrious career. Early standouts such as the 1967 IGM Ford and the 1972 Duckhams LM will sit beside Grand Prix legends including the BT44, BT46B “Fan Car” and the title-winning BT52. The display continues through the era-defining McLaren MP4/4 and McLaren F1, the ultra-light LCC Rocket, and the Le Mans-conquering F1 GTR variants, before culminating in modern masterpieces like the GMA T.50, the T.50s Niki Lauda, and the V12-powered T.33.

This curated timeline highlights six decades of British supercar innovation, reinforcing the Gordon Murray Group’s reputation for cutting-edge design, motorsport-bred performance, and a relentless pursuit of driving perfection—qualities that are set to resonate anew when the two Gordon Murray Special Vehicles break cover at The Quail.
