Hyundai Targets Fifth TCR Win at 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours
Hyundai Motor Company marks its tenth consecutive appearance at the ADAC RAVENOL 24 Hour Nürburgring race on 21–22 June 2025, using the world-famous Nordschleife as a proving ground for its high-performance Hyundai N models. Determined to claim a fifth straight TCR Class victory, the team fields two formidable ELANTRA N TCR machines while introducing the ELANTRA N1 Cup car to the SP3T Class for the first time, underlining Hyundai’s expanding global motorsport ambitions.
The Nürburgring 24 Hours remains one of motorsport’s sternest tests, demanding speed, stamina and reliability over 25.378 kilometres of twisting tarmac. Since its 2016 debut, Hyundai has exploited this arena to refine production-based N vehicles and gather invaluable endurance data. “Hyundai N has leveraged the Nürburgring as a proving ground since the launch of the brand, and this event underscores its strategic significance as a critical arena for validating the capabilities of Hyundai Motor’s N models,” said Joon Park, Vice-President and Head of N Brand Management Group. “Our decade-long journey here echoes our commitment to motorsport and high-performance engineering, and we aim to continue our dominance in the TCR class.”
Hyundai extends its one-make race series by bringing the ELANTRA N1 Cup car—known as the AVANTE N1 Cup car in Korea—to Europe. Rising Korean star Youngchan Kim joins compatriot and double N1 champion Gyumin Kim, TCR Asia title-holder Zhang Zhen Dong from China and 2024 TC America champion Jeff Ricca from the United States to demonstrate the car’s pace and durability on the international stage.
Seasoned campaigners Marc Basseng, Manuel Lauck and Christer Joens share ELANTRA N TCR #830, while Bryson Morris, Michael Lewis, Mason Filippi and inspirational Canadian Robert Wickens—who races with innovative hand controls after his 2024 accident—take the wheel of #831. Their collective experience and resolve embody Hyundai’s belief that motorsport welcomes anyone with the courage to compete.
Beyond the race, Hyundai develops trophy-cup programmes across Europe to broaden the N brand’s reach, supported by partners such as Hankook Tyre, Titan 7 and AST Suspension. A vibrant promotional campaign, featuring dynamic video content, celebrates a decade of endurance success and highlights the seamless link between showroom reliability and track performance.
As engines fire for the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours, Hyundai Motor Company stands ready to defend its TCR crown, debut the ELANTRA N1 Cup car and inspire fans worldwide with a compelling display of innovation, teamwork and unrelenting pursuit of excellence.
