Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan Daisy: One-Off Luxury SUV

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveils Black Badge Cullinan Daisy, a striking one-off luxury SUV that channels the commissioning client's passion for hiking and the outdoors. Designers draw inspiration from a field of daisies along the client's favourite High Tatras trail, transforming the resilient wildflower into a bespoke symbol of perseverance and serenity that flows through every detail.

“My love for the outdoors has been a driving force behind both my personal passions and professional success. The inspiration for this commission came from a field of daisies on my favourite trail in the High Tatras mountains – a place I return to when I need to clear my thoughts. I’m continuously amazed not only by the beauty but also by the resilience of this flower that seems to thrive in the face of nature's challenges. I envisioned Black Badge Cullinan Daisy as a symbol of perseverance – balancing strength with serenity". Commissioning Client, Black Badge Cullinan Daisy.

The subtle Powder Blue exterior carries a single hand-painted Coachline that blooms into a daisy motif, while the darkened Black Badge Pantheon Grille, Spirit of Ecstasy and gloss-black brightwork sharpen its presence. This contemporary palette delivers confident elegance without overpowering the floral inspiration.

“This commission challenged us to explore how natural motifs can be translated through craft and materiality. From the delicately etched Blackwood to the daisy detail hidden inside the umbrellas, we told the client’s remarkable story through unexpected textures and an entirely new palette. The Black Badge Cullinan Daisy is quietly confident, rich in symbolism, yet modern in its execution. It also represents a different kind of Bespoke language where emotion is captured through restrained and thoughtful contrasts.” Martina Starke, General Manager, Bespoke Design, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Craftspeople apply a sand-blasting technique to Blackwood veneers on the fascia and waterfall, etching the daisy design into the grain so light and shadow sculpt a three-dimensional effect. They complement the wood with a Fleet Blue, Selby Grey and Black leather cabin, adding Fleet Blue piping, Selby Grey stitching and headrest monograms. Bespoke Illuminated Treadplates extend the floral theme as passengers step aboard.

The daisy pattern hides inside bespoke umbrellas stowed within Cullinan’s rear Coach Doors, recalling alpine meadows on rainy days. Above, a Bespoke Starlight Headliner maps Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Gemini and Taurus, connecting the cabin to the night sky that guides high-altitude trekkers.

Engineers equip the Black Badge Cullinan Daisy with an automatically deployable Recreation Module, ensuring the owner’s favourite hiking gear remains ready for the next ascent. Through meticulous craftsmanship, restrained contrasts and innovative materials, Rolls-Royce delivers a modern expression of bespoke luxury that celebrates adventure and the natural world.
