Lamborghini Fenomeno: 29-Car V12 Hybrid Icon of Speed

Automobili Lamborghini unveils the Fenomeno, a few-off limited edition of just 29 cars that celebrates the marque’s heritage in exclusive models, new levels of performance and technical innovation, and the iconic, essential design of Lamborghini Centro Stile. Twenty years ago, the recently founded Sant’Agata Bolognese design department presented its first car. Today, the Fenomeno marks that milestone with a super sports car conceived for collectors and for drivers who expect the ultimate in exclusivity.

Lamborghini positions the Fenomeno as an original ‘design manifesto’ that pushes its most representative stylistic elements to the extreme. Alongside bespoke aerodynamics, it pairs the most powerful V12 in Lamborghini’s history with three electric motors. The system delivers a total of 1,080 CV, with a record 835 CV from the naturally aspirated V12 and a further 245 CV from the trio of e-motors. The car channels this unprecedented power through firsts for a Lamborghini, including a 6D sensor and CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes, so the driver can fully exploit the Fenomeno on road and track.

“When we presented the Reventón in 2007, our goal was to create a truly superlative super sports car that represented the ultimate expression of what Lamborghini stood for,” says Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “This new few-off carries forward the same philosophy of distinction and innovation that is a fundamental part of our DNA.”

A star of Monterey Car Week 2025, the Fenomeno continues Lamborghini’s tradition of few-off models, following the Reventón, Sesto Elemento (2010), Veneno (2013), Centenario (2016), Sián (2019) and Countach (2021). The name Fenomeno follows brand tradition too, drawn from a brave and famous bull fought in Morelia, Mexico, in 2002. In a bullfight between two ‘toreros’, the bull was pardoned for the exceptional qualities it demonstrated. In Italian and Spanish, Fenomeno means “phenomenal,” a symbol of something extraordinary.

“Fenomeno is an extraordinary car in terms of performance, style and disruptive representation of Lamborghini, created to celebrate the value and achievements of our brand, and dedicated to those customers who expect the utmost exclusivity from us,” continued Winkelmann. “But beyond its extraordinary design and power, the Fenomeno is the first of its kind that, more than any other in Lamborghini's history, introduces innovative technical solutions to make the driving experience truly unique.”

Engineers house the powertrain within the monofuselage, an aeronautics-inspired chassis with a monocoque made entirely of multi-technology carbon fibre and a front structure in Forged Composite®, a special material made of short carbon fibre soaked in resin. Lamborghini has produced and used this material since the 2007 Reventón, the forerunner of all few-offs with futuristic bodywork made entirely of carbon fibre.

The Fenomeno adopts technologies typically found in race cars to optimise dynamics and deliver a pure V12 driving experience. The CCM-R Plus brake system with carbon-ceramic discs provides maximum efficiency on road and track. Single-nut forged rims enhance agility, while Bridgestone track-oriented tyres offer outstanding grip. Sport-tuned suspension completes the setup, giving high precision and stability during spirited driving.

These characteristics, combined with the exceptional power, make the Fenomeno the fastest Lamborghini to date. It sprints from 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds and from 0-200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while maximum speed exceeds 350 km/h. The weight-to-power ratio sets a brand record at 1.64 kg/CV.

The car stands as a new design manifesto with an unexpectedly hyper-elegant longtail proportion. Lamborghini’s iconic and instantly recognisable design DNA remains fresh and exciting, defined by the single centre line silhouette, the extreme architecture of the main cabin, and futuristic presence from every angle. Reduced, puristic lines and cleaner high-performance surfaces ensure every line serves function and aesthetic purity, so design meets performance.

Lamborghini also celebrates 20 years of Centro Stile, officially opened in 2005 and now a creative epicentre of super sports car design. “With the Fenomeno, we are setting a new, authentic and brave course for our future-oriented design language,” says Director of Design Mitja Borkert. “We have created a hyper-elegant design piece that is as refined and sophisticated as it is both athletic and essential. It is an unexpectedly elegant spaceship, made entirely from carbon fibre while remaining true to our heritage. Fenomeno plays the music of our unique design DNA but with a different tonality and rhythm, creating another stunning legend that exceeds the highest expectations of our customers and collectors.”

At the front, a taut, streamlined shape meets large, athletic surfaces. The bonnet integrates two sizeable air intakes inspired by racing Lamborghinis such as the Huracán GT3, while the DRLs form a light signature that pays homage to the horns of the bull in the Lamborghini logo. The new Automobili Lamborghini logo, unveiled in 2024, makes its debut here, set above a front that blends iconic cues like the Y motif linking the carbon fibre splitter with the sharp lamp clusters.

In profile, the Fenomeno reinterprets the classic Lamborghini silhouette with a single line defining the car from the tip of the bonnet to the tail, inspired by the long tail of the Essenza SCV12. The launch livery in Giallo Crius highlights the muscular upper volumes. It contrasts with the technical, aerodynamic lower section, where racing-derived carbon fibre fins play a key aerodynamic role while framing the wheel arches.

Aerodynamics reflect intensive research to deliver high efficiency and consistent performance in all conditions. Appendages that frame the front splitter create twin air curtains that guide airflow parallel to the wheels, reducing drag while increasing mass flow to the radiators. An S-Duct at the nose raises front downforce, stabilises dynamics during sporty driving, and channels air via bonnet slots to the centre of the roof. The concave roof profile concentrates flow both through the airscoop on the engine cover, improving component cooling, and towards the mobile rear wing with its special omega shape that maximises high-speed stability.

The new door design also plays an aerodynamic role, directing flow to large side air intakes. This ensures cooling for engine-bay components and correct radiator operation while introducing a fresh take on the NACA duct that has defined Lamborghini design since the first Countach. Side cooling improves by more than 30 per cent compared with a series-production Lamborghini V12. From the rear, a continuous line links wing and wheel arch, defining the boundary between body and tail. A futuristic light signature, a vertical reinterpretation of the iconic Y, connects the carbon fibre diffuser elements with the emphasised hexagonal exhaust outlet.

The single-nut forged rims feature a turbine theme and measure 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear, wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres sized 265/30 ZRF21 and 355/25 ZRF22.

Inside, the passenger compartment interprets the hyper-design concept and evolves the ‘Feel like a pilot’ philosophy to deepen the connection between driver, passenger and machine. The driving position and race steering wheel create an immersive experience. At the same time, the three digital screens meet minimalist aims and allow most physical buttons to be removed so the driver can focus on the road or circuit.

Lamborghini takes its R&D in ultra-light materials to extremes. Carbon fibre dominates the interior, from the centre console with sport pad to the door panels and bespoke bucket sports seats. Engineers designed the seats specifically for the Fenomeno and produced the air vents in the carbon fibre instrument cluster using 3D printing technology. Ambient lighting emphasises the spaceship-like geometry to elevate the on-board experience.

Owners can personalise their car through the Ad Personam programme. The Fenomeno offers a virtually unlimited range of colour combinations for bodywork and cabin, plus tailored upholstery materials. Clients can specify more than 400 exterior colours and an almost limitless range of interior options, and can define every detail at the Ad Personam studio in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The powertrain architecture centres on a mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 paired with three electric motors, one integrated into the new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The oversquare V12 produces 835 CV at 9,250 rpm thanks to a redesigned valvetrain that supports a 9,500 rpm red line. Specific output exceeds 128 CV per litre, and the engine delivers 725 Nm at 6,750 rpm with 80 per cent available from 3,500 rpm. The internal combustion engine drives the rear wheels, the two front e-motors power the front axle, and a third radial-flux electric motor mounted above the gearbox apportions torque to the rear according to the chosen driving mode. Combined torque reaches unique levels for a super sports car, with 725 Nm from the engine and 350 Nm from each front motor. Total system power reaches 1,080 CV, aided by a new 7 kWh battery explicitly developed for the Fenomeno.

The two front oil-cooled axial-flow e-motors each deliver 110 kW yet weigh just 18.5 kg, contributing torque vectoring for dynamics and providing regenerative braking. The eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox sits transversely behind the longitudinal V12, freeing space in the central tunnel for the lithium-ion battery and helping keep weight low and the footprint compact. Lightning-fast shift times suit the highest levels of performance driving, while the extra ratio improves cruising comfort and fuel consumption. A continuous downshift function allows the driver to drop multiple gears by holding the left paddle, engaging the ideal gear for the instantaneous speed under braking, and enhancing control.

The electric unit above the gearbox acts as a starter and generator and supplies energy to the two front motors via the tunnel-mounted battery. It provides a boost in 100 per cent electric mode and can drive the rear axle directly for zero-emission four-wheel drive. Its role varies by driving mode, using a decoupling mechanism with a dedicated synchroniser to connect to the dual-clutch gearbox. In position P, the Fenomeno can operate as a full EV depending on mode, while position P2 recharges the battery when stationary or at low speeds.

Braking performance matches the power. Engineers developed the system from the ground up to deliver toughness and durability with exceptional stability. The Fenomeno adopts innovative CCM-R Plus carbon-ceramic brakes similar to LMDh technology used on the SC63, bringing racing performance to the road. Discs feature a 3D structure with long carbon fibres in a carbon matrix and a dedicated surface treatment that increases service life and the coefficient of friction for maximum braking stability, durability and reliability. The aerothermal concept maximises airflow to discs and callipers for optimal cooling. Racing shocks can be manually calibrated for stance and track setup, deliver optimum damping to control body movement, and use kinematics that let the dampers work at their best for outstanding behaviour during sports driving.

Vehicle dynamics rely on specific components led by a 6D sensor and innovative control logics, introduced on a Lamborghini for the first time. Mounted near the centre of gravity and linked directly to the IPB Integrated Power Brake control unit, the 6D sensor measures acceleration on three axes and angular velocity on three axes in real time. The data enables precise estimation of vehicle speed, side-slip angle and the instantaneous tyre-road friction coefficient. The 6D sensor feeds the IVE Integrated Vehicle Estimator, which uses Kalman filtering to predict dynamics so systems can adapt to any situation. These include the IBC Integrated Brake Controller, which implements wheel slip control during braking and can cut stopping distances by up to 1 per cent. The direct IVE link enables the IPB to enhance braking performance in corners and across various track scenarios, including riding kerbs, based on the estimator’s accuracy.

Bridgestone serves as the exclusive tyre partner, equipping the Fenomeno with bespoke Potenza Sport ultra-high-performance tyres to harness the most powerful Lamborghini V12 to date. Available in 265/30 ZRF21 front and 355/25 ZRF22 rear sizes, these premium tyres deliver high-speed performance and sharp steering response to manage the 1,080 CV powertrain. The tyres are available with Bridgestone Run Flat Technology, which lets the driver continue at 80 km/h for 80 km after a puncture, even at zero pressure. Lamborghini will also offer high-grip, semi-slick bespoke Bridgestone tyres that provide track-level performance while remaining fully homologated for public roads, with track-oriented fitments in 20 and 21 inches. Bridgestone created these tyres using its Virtual Tyre Development technology to reduce raw material use and emissions during development.

“With the Fenomeno, Lamborghini once again presents an incomparable super sports car in a limited edition. The combination of the most powerful V12 in our history, breathtaking design, superior aerodynamics, and cutting-edge technologies such as extreme lightweight construction makes the Enzo the most extraordinary super sports car of our time," says Stephan Winkelmann. It stands as a true manifesto of technology and design. A phenomenon in name and nature. Born in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

Measured data underline the specification. The Fenomeno measures 5,014 mm long, 2,076 mm wide and 1,161 mm high, with a 2,779 mm wheelbase. Brakes use 420 x 40 mm discs at the front and 410 x 32 mm at the rear. The 6,498 cm³ V12 features a 95 mm bore and 76.4 mm stroke, produces 835 CV at 9,250 rpm, and pairs with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Combined output reaches 1,080 CV, with maximum torque of 725 Nm at 6,750 rpm and specific output of 128 CV per litre. The engine revs to 9,500 rpm with a 12.6:1 compression ratio. Performance claims include a top speed exceeding 350 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 6.7 seconds, 100-0 km/h in 30 metres, and a dry weight-to-power ratio of 1.64 kg/CV.
