Maserati MCXtrema Delivered in Modena to Jacques Sicotte
Maserati welcomed nuclear engineer and entrepreneur Jacques Sicotte to the Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena, the marque’s historic headquarters for almost 90 years, to take delivery of his latest acquisition. Living in southern France and already known for a multi-million-dollar collection of over 60 rare collector’s cars, which includes the iconic Maserati MC12, he adds a new gem that strengthens his passion for aesthetics, adrenaline, and track driving.
As the spiritual successor to the MC12, the Maserati MCXtrema felt essential to his garage of Italian exotics and track-only hypercars. One of only 62 “Beasts”, his car was unveiled to him at the beating heart of Maserati, where many dreams are born —a setting that celebrates the Trident’s DNA, its Italian spirit, and its extraordinary heritage.
The venue’s uniqueness mirrored the car’s bespoke specification. Starting from the MCXlusiva programme, the customer tailored every element. Maserati Centro Stile proposed a “Corse” livery that echoes the MC12 Stradale, then personalised it with the collector’s lucky number 77 on the door. The body wears a two-tone matte blue and pearl white finish with a bold Trident painted in contrast on the bonnet, a clear nod to Maserati’s racing heritage and the MC12, one of which already joins his collection.
Inside, the car is surrounded by dark blue trim and dedicated options. The specification includes the passenger seat kit, a rear-view camera and telemetry to support data-driven track sessions. Every detail forms a “work of art on wheels”, personally designed by the collector with Maserati’s designers to fuse Italian craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
The MCXtrema embodies automotive innovation for purists who seek uncompromising track performance combined with signature Maserati luxury. Developed exclusively for the circuit and limited to 62 units, it breaks the mould and sets new paradigms for a 100% Italian brand renowned for distinctive design, engineering and speed. Power comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 delivering 740 CV (540 kW), derived from the celebrated Nettuno racing engine, placing this model at the pinnacle of Maserati’s track performance.
Maserati equipped the MCXtrema using its most advanced tools. The Virtual Analysis team dedicated approximately 200 hours to the dynamic simulator and 1,000 hours of virtual studies across multiple simulations, then validated the results against track feedback. The Powertrain Calibration team refined delivery from the Nettuno engine to manage its immense output. This integrated approach produced a car that unites perfect Centro Stile design with efficient aerodynamics for every track configuration.
During the handover, Andrea Bertolini, Maserati's Chief Test Driver and one of the most successful GT drivers, with four world titles in the legendary MC12, presented the car. He oversaw development from the early phases to the dynamic simulator, providing the owner with an unforgettable moment that deepened the connection between the driver and the machine.
Maserati also enriches ownership with MCXperience services tailored to MCXtrema clients. The programme offers a dedicated Concierge for personalised track days and focused after-sales support within Maserati Corse Services. Each car arrives with a special racing kit developed with Sparco, the motorsport equipment leader, to blend comfort with high performance and bring drivers closer to the car’s pure racing DNA.
