Alpine A290 Rallye: Electric Debut and 2026 Trophy Plans
Alpine advances its future-focused motorsport programme with the A290 Rallye, the first competition car from its 100% electric dream garage. The brand invites rally fans to experience the agile, all-electric Alpine A290 in full flight, featuring rally-ready components such as a limited-slip differential and a hydraulic handbrake. This electric rally car showcases Alpine’s drive for sustainable performance while preserving the thrill of competition.
Following appearances at Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the A290 Rallye will make its competition debut at Rallye National de l’Indre on 8–9 November 2025. This landmark outing opens the model’s competitive career with the inaugural Alpine A290 Rally Trophy. The series will feature the first A290 Rallye cars produced and delivered, allowing drivers, co-drivers, and teams to experience the vehicle in real rally stages.
Winners will earn an entry to one round of the French Rally Championship as an official Alpine A110 Rally driver. At the same time, other finalists will secure a free entry to the Alpine A290 Rally Trophy in 2026. The format rewards pace and consistency, creating a clear pathway from the A290 Rallye to top-level national competition.
Alpine will scale the programme in 2026 as the Alpine A290 Rally Trophy adopts a new format built to the brand’s high standards. The six-round series within the French Rally Championship will host 16 competitors in a dedicated paddock that features environmentally friendly charging solutions, technical assistance, an on-site spare parts service, and guaranteed sporting and technical fairness. The structure supports reliable running for every electric rally car on the grid.
In parallel, the Alpine A290 Regional Trophy will welcome crews keen to tackle eligible rallies and hill climbs, widening access to competition for enthusiasts. As with the main A290 Rally Trophy, only the five best results will count, encouraging attacking drives without compromising season-long campaigns.
Alpine will also involve its retail network through the Alpine Store Challenge, pairing each crew with an Alpine Store to boost visibility for competitors, partners and participating outlets. This approach strengthens links between customer racing and the distribution network, helping new fans discover the Alpine A290 Rallye and its electric performance.
The Alpine A290 Rally Trophy will offer €19,200 in prize packages at the Rallye National de l’Indre, split between performance bonuses and spare parts vouchers. From 2026, the prize fund will rise to €236,000, while leading contenders in the Alpine A290 Regional Trophy will compete for €46,000. These incentives underline Alpine’s commitment to customer racing with meaningful support.
With its distinctive design, fresh format and generous rewards, the Alpine A290 Trophy provides a true springboard to the future of motorsport. Alpine delivers a modern and sustainable vision of rallying that stays faithful to its heritage while meeting the needs of today’s electric competition landscape. Enthusiasts can look forward to a new era of Alpine performance, from the A290 Rallye’s debut to the growth of electric rally competition in France.
