New Porsche Cayenne Electric: Immersive Digital Interior

The Cayenne Electric transforms the interior into an experiential space that blends Porsche's sporting DNA with digital innovation. Porsche places the new Flow Display at the heart of the cabin, creating the largest display ever installed in a Porsche. Designers curve it elegantly, integrate it seamlessly and make it simple to use. New comfort features, including electrically adjustable rear seats, surface heating, and Mood Modes, significantly enhance the driving experience in this luxury electric SUV. A much broader choice of colours, materials and accents opens up virtually unlimited opportunities for personalisation. “Our goal was to combine quintessential Cayenne characteristics and the newly developed display surfaces with the features of the new ‘Porsche Digital Interaction’ into a harmonious overall package. One that’s innovative, forward-thinking and meticulously thought through down to the finest detail,” says Markus Auerbach, Director Interior Design at Style Porsche.

All occupants in the Cayenne Electric enjoy more space and a richer set of comfort features. Standard electric adjustment for the rear seats enables quick movement from a relaxed comfort position to a practical cargo mode. New Mood Modes orchestrate light, climate, sound and seat functions to create distinctive atmospheres that support relaxation, focus or performance driving. A sliding panoramic roof with Variable Light Control adds an airy sense of space, ranking as the most prominent glass sunroof ever fitted in a Porsche. The front section opens like a classic sliding roof, while the entire surface can switch from Clear to Matte using an electrically controlled liquid crystal film. Two additional semi-transparent settings, Semi and Bold, offer 40% and 60% opacity, respectively.

Porsche introduces new surface heating that warms not only the seats but also large contact areas such as armrests and door panel sections. This approach creates a pleasant, cosy atmosphere throughout the interior with greater efficiency and a more even distribution than a conventional warm-air system. Extended ambient and communication lighting complements the extensive comfort features and supports the Cayenne Electric’s modern digital cockpit.

The new all-electric model sets a benchmark for individuality in the Porsche lineup. Customers can choose from 13 interior colour combinations, as well as four interior packages and five accent packages, allowing for tailored configurations that range from understated and elegant to distinctly sporty. Porsche also offers new material choices for the Cayenne Electric; alongside classic leather variants, the colours Magnesium Grey, Lavender, and Sage Grey join the palette. Customers who prefer a leather-free interior can select the Race-Tex interior with Pepita print textile, which pays homage to iconic Porsche designs of the past. A fresh variety of decorative trims and accents allows precise coordination with the chosen interior colour, while contrasting stitching and harmonised accent colours add further individuality and exclusivity.

Beyond Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, customers can bring a personal vision to life through the Sonderwunsch programme, right down to one-off creations. As a result, the Cayenne Electric offers a level and breadth of personalisation opportunities never before seen in a Porsche SUV, reinforcing its position among premium electric cars.

The Porsche Digital Interaction display and operating concept marks a milestone in digitalisation. At its core, the Flow Display features a curved OLED panel that seamlessly integrates into the centre console, creating a unique operating format. Together with additional screens, it forms the largest continuous digital surface in any Porsche. A fully digital instrument cluster featuring 14.25-inch OLED technology displays the power meter and key information on navigation, driver assistance, and infotainment with crystal clarity. An optional 14.9-inch passenger display provides entertainment, app control and video streaming during driving without distracting the driver. For the first time, the Cayenne Electric offers a head-up display with augmented reality that projects navigation arrows and lane guidance directly into the driver’s view of the road, featuring an adequate display size of 87 inches.

“The aim of redesigning the screens’ digital content was to create an even more immersive and intense connection between driver and sports car,” says Ivo van Hulten, Director Driver Experience at Style Porsche. Configurable widgets make the operation more intuitive than ever. With the new Themes App, owners can customise the colour scheme of all digital surfaces in the interior. Five predefined colour schemes transform the appearance of the Flow Display, instrument cluster and other displays, turning the interface itself into a design element and adding a purely digital layer to the classic choice of materials and colours.

A wide range of streaming and gaming functions elevates the digital experience of the Cayenne Electric. The AI-powered voice assistant understands complex instructions as well as spontaneous follow-up questions without requiring the activation word to be repeated. The Voice Pilot controls comfort features, including climate, seat heating, ambient lighting, and Mood Modes, with simple voice commands. It recognises addresses, points of interest, and traffic information in natural language, and it can play media content, such as streaming services or radio stations, on request, reinforcing the Cayenne Electric’s role as a connected EV.

With the Porsche Digital Key, owners can use smartphones and smartwatches as car keys. Thanks to Ultra Wideband technology, the Cayenne Electric recognises the mobile device and automatically locks or unlocks the car when it approaches or leaves. Users can store the Digital Key securely in the Wallet app and share it with up to seven additional people, adding everyday convenience to this advanced electric SUV.
