NILU Hypercar Expands in Germany and Unveils New C-suite
Nilu27 has established the NILU R&D centre and production base in Germany, as customers have already allocated more than 30 per cent of hypercar build slots. The company has also named its new CTO and CFO. You can see NILU at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas on November 1, 2025, in an exciting new specification.
Nilu27 proudly strengthens its leadership team with the appointments of Simon Wägner and Alexander Hubbard-Ford. They join founders Sasha and Inna Selipanov in the C-suite, bringing deep expertise that will power the next phase of growth and innovation. This strategic expansion shows the company’s commitment to building a world-class organisation capable of ambitious goals and genuine disruption in the hypercar sector.
Launched by legendary sports car designer Sasha Selipanov with his wife Inna, the NILU hypercar opened its order books after last year’s debut. Customers have already reserved 30 per cent of the limited production run of 69 units.
Responding to exceptional interest in the NILU hypercar, Nilu27 has created the Founder’s Edition Programme for a select group of clients. Participants can specify their car for the road or choose a non-homologated configuration that stays closest to the vision behind the original 2024 concept car.
Potential customers and fans who have not yet had the opportunity to see NILU in person can view it at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas on November 1, 2025. The Nilu27 team will discuss every variant and technical detail. The hypercar will be unveiled in a new SUMAC Red livery, showcasing the striking lines of Sasha’s design.
Propelling the company forward, Simon Wägner becomes Chief Technology and Operations Officer, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. He began his career in 1999 at Porsche AG as a systems developer before advancing to Senior Project Manager, leading major programmes for the VW Group and other clients. He later joined Bugatti to lead programme and project management, delivering the Chiron hypercar and then steering the strategic portfolio for the following decade. In 2022, he left the VW Group to serve as VP of Engineering for Car Development Programmes at Koenigsegg, where he led the CC850 and Gemera programmes and oversaw the start of production for the Jesko.
Simon’s professional path has often intersected with Sasha’s at Bugatti and Koenigsegg, building a trusted relationship that will continue through the development and deliveries of NILU. “Having worked with Simon before, I know exactly what he brings to the table: discipline, precision, and a deep understanding of how to turn an ambitious vision into faultless products,” Sasha commented on Simon’s appointment. His experience was forged at companies that lead today’s hypercar industry, and his work was paramount to their success. His addition to our team gives me absolute confidence in our ability to execute the NILU to standards that exceed industry benchmarks. Nilu27 is not here to play second fiddle to anyone. The calibre of our team speaks for itself.”
With extensive international experience in finance and business development, Alexander Hubbard-Ford joins Nilu27 as Chief Financial Officer to drive sustainable growth and global reach. He has led investments for institutional investors, capital management companies, family offices and high-growth companies. Alexander managed and optimised investments of up to €600 million in Europe and raised equity exceeding $1 billion in the United States.
Before joining Nilu27, he oversaw financing and transactions for a leading project developer in Germany, managing projects totalling more than €400 million. Across a 25-year career, he has held roles at Hornblower Fischer AG, Regent Partners USA, Falcon Oil and Gas, Jamestown US Immobilien, Lübke Kelber Asset Management and Terragon AG. Alexander said, “I am thrilled to join Nilu27, where we are building the most exciting hypercar. We have the best team in the field and are located in the most suitable region of the world for this endeavour. I eagerly anticipate delivering this car to our customers and witnessing Sasha add another legendary vehicle to the hypercar universe.”
Behind the scenes, the company has continued to upgrade its infrastructure and has accelerated progress after accepting external funding. One of the first significant steps is to establish the R&D and production facility in Lahr, Germany. Locating operational headquarters in Lahr gives Nilu27 a strategic base in the heart of Europe’s automotive landscape. The site is located near major German OEMs and a dense network of tier-one suppliers, offering rapid connections to Stuttgart, Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich, Basel, and Strasbourg, which support innovation, engineering, and client engagement. With the city's full support, the company also gains access to the local airport, which is used for vehicle testing.
With the team and facility in place, Nilu27 plans to unveil its first pre-production driving prototype in 2026. The NILU hypercar programme continues to advance as the company prepares for development, client specification and future deliveries.
