Mustang GTD Smashes Nürburgring in Sub-7-minute Lap Time

With the GTD, Ford promised Mustang drivers not merely "good enough" but a street-legal supercar capable of challenging the world's finest, and they delivered. This year, Ford fine-tuned the production Mustang GTD, returned to the unforgiving Nürburgring and cut 5.5 seconds from its lap time. The Mustang GTD now stands as the fourth-fastest production sports car ever to record a sub-seven-minute circuit time. Achieving a sub-7-minute lap is a mark of elite performance; only five production sports cars in history have managed it.
