Porsche 911 Turbo S T-Hybrid: Faster, Sharper, Smarter
The new Porsche 911 Turbo S follows an icon and raises the bar again for performance, long-distance comfort, exclusivity and everyday usability. Available as a coupé and Cabriolet, it arrives with a more muscular design, more innovative aerodynamics, an optimised chassis and even more exclusive equipment.
"The 911 Turbo S is the most complete and versatile way to drive a Porsche 911. Whether in daily use, on long motorway drives or on the race track – we have been able to make the new 911 Turbo S even more comfortable, more individual and significantly faster than its predecessor," says Frank Moser, Vice President of the 911 and 718 model line.
Porsche’s newly developed twin-turbo T-Hybrid powertrain delivers 711 PS (523 kW), making this the most powerful production 911 to date. It produces 800 Nm from 2,300 to 6,000 rpm and sustains peak power between 6,500 and 7,000 rpm. Its lightweight 400 V hybrid system adds 61 PS over the previous model. The T-Hybrid concept debuted in the 2024 911 Carrera GTS; however, the Turbo S advances the technology with two electric exhaust-gas turbochargers, rather than one. Porsche designed the turbine and compressor specifically for this flagship, and the eTurbos boost both response and power. A compact 1.9 kWh high-voltage battery mirrors that of the Carrera GTS. An eight-speed PDK with an integrated electric motor sends drive to the PTM all-wheel drive system. The Turbo S Coupé sprints from 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds, reaches 124 mph in 8.4 seconds and, where appropriate, tops out at 200 mph.
Despite the added hybrid hardware, the car weighs only 85 kilograms more than its predecessor, and Porsche offsets that gain with improvements across every dynamic metric. In final development drives in autumn 2024, a lightly camouflaged 911 Turbo S lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:03.92 minutes under notarial supervision, around 14 seconds quicker than before. "You don't feel the weight gain. On the contrary, the car is much more agile, has more grip and is significantly faster than its predecessor in all relevant sections of the track," says Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who helped develop and test the new 911 Turbo S and set the official lap time.
Porsche adapts the entire vehicle periphery to match this step in performance. A new generation of tyres improves dry handling while maintaining firm wet grip. The rear axle now wears 325/30 ZR 21 tyres, 10 millimetres wider than before, while the front retains 255/35 ZR 20. The standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system features new pads, providing greater endurance, firmer stopping power, and a more precise pedal feel. The rear discs expand from 390 mm to 410 mm, while the front discs measure 420 mm, resulting in the most extensive PCCB package Porsche has ever fitted to a two-door model.
An intelligent aerodynamic concept optimises cooling and efficiency. Active, vertically arranged cooling-air flaps at the front and an active front diffuser work in conjunction with a variable front-spoiler lip and the extendable, tilting rear wing as a single integrated system. The set-up channels cooling air to the brakes and radiators, reduces lift when required, or trims drag when the elements retract. In its most efficient setting, the Coupé’s drag coefficient falls by ten per cent versus its predecessor. In Wet mode, the front diffusers close to shield the front brake discs from excessive spray, which improves wet-braking performance.
The 400 V electrical architecture enables standard electro-hydraulically controlled Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (ehPDCC). The system cuts roll in direction changes and sharpens agility at corner entry and exit. Cross-connected active coupling rods build pressure through oil flow according to the driving situation. The anti-roll bars generate support forces, allowing the car to stay balanced and predictable. Comfort and dynamics both improve. For daily usability, an optional front-axle lift integrates into the 400 V system and operates faster than before.
A new standard sports exhaust, featuring a titanium rear silencer and titanium tailpipe trims, underscores the Turbo S's character and saves 6.8 kg. Internal engine upgrades add further emotion. The 3.6-litre boxer engine utilises asymmetrical valve timing to enhance the frequency mix, producing a throatier, sharper sound.
Porsche introduces a cross-series turbo design strategy for the 911. Contrasting elements appear in Turbonite, a finish reserved for Turbo models, including the Porsche crest and the "Turbo S" script at the rear. Turbo S-specific inserts in the rear-wing slats and the side-window strips add definition, while new centre-lock wheel designs in Turbonite join the options list. Compared to Carrera models, the Turbo S features a visibly wider body and track, along with openings in the rear side section. A redesigned rear fascia with striking ventilation openings further emphasises width. Titanium tailpipes in a reinterpreted Turbo design, together with a dynamic pearl structure above the light strip, reinforce its status. Optional oval titanium tailpipe trims with a special structure add another signature touch.
The cabin also features Turbonite accents on the door panels, steering wheel, dashboard, and centre-console surrounds, as well as decorative stitching, the Sport Chrono stopwatch, and the instrument cluster. Seat belts and several centre-console buttons follow the theme. For the first time, carbon-structured trim strips with neodyme detailing and a perforated microfibre headliner with black backing feature as part of the exclusive interior. As a coupé, the 911 Turbo S arrives as a two-seater, with a no-cost option for a rear seat. The Cabriolet comes as a 2+2. HD Matrix LED headlights are standard. Additionally, the Sport Chrono Package includes a tyre-temperature display, a specific PASM suspension tune, ePDCC anti-roll support, and the titanium sports exhaust. Inside, Adaptive 18-way Sports Seats Plus with memory and "turbo S" headrest lettering come as standard. Turbo S-specific embossing on the seat surfaces and door panels reinterprets cues from the first 911 Turbo 930. Coupé buyers can also specify the folding lightweight sports bucket seat from the 911 GT3.
Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers extensive personalisation. Paint to Sample provides more than 100 exterior colours. Highlights include Turbo Exclusive Design wheels with carbon blades painted in neodymium, a lightweight roof featuring visible carbon, Exclusive Design rear lights, and carbon air intakes in the rear side section. Porsche now offers carbon wiper arms for the first time, 50 per cent lighter than the standard items. The interior can gain contrasting decorative stitching, personalised embossing, leather seat consoles and sill panels with fine stitching, and personalised painted vehicle keys.
The Porsche Design Timepieces Configurator lets you design a personal "sports car for the wrist", matched to the 911 Turbo S in every detail. A new black dial with Turbonite elements echoes the car, and the colour ring can be matched to any exterior colour, including a custom colour of your choice. The titanium case features a black titanium-carbide coating, while the strap is made from original Porsche interior leather and yarn, with hot-stamped "Turbo S" lettering. The watch features the Porsche Design calibre WERK 01.200, which is COSC-certified and equipped with a flyback function. A selectable winding rotor mirrors various 911 Turbo S wheel designs and carries the Porsche crest in Turbonite. You can personalise the case back with an engraving. The Chronograph 911 Turbo S is handmade to order at Porsche’s watch manufactory in Grenchen, Switzerland.
